I've now sent 4 e-mails to Vidshop about my backorders and how they've taken money without me receiving the goods (the last one was very sharp) and they're simply ignoring me. What can I do to change the situation? Naturally, never to use them again but I've spent a good £70 on these DVDs which are on backorder. I know that their e-mail account is active because up until recently, they responded promptly.
Yeah I have, octopusuk. Unfortunately. But never before have they completely ignored me. It's now been 2 weeks and not a single reply from them. The only good thing I can say about them is that they deliver very quickly. But as far as customer serivce goes, they are abysmal.
I don't want to protect Vidshop by any means as I don't know how they work. Just in general: These days you simply cannot be sure anymore that an email actually arrives in the recipients inbox. I know that when we send emails to Hotmail accounts they most likely just dissapear. We also have customers that use a spamfilter that rejects mails which are adult oriented - very funny, so don't write to adult companies and expect to get a reply. To bring it back to your point: Maybe Vidshop did not get your email at all - for whatever reason. Also, maybe you did not get their reply because it got stuck somewhere.
Sorry, ORGAZMIK, but I think you're really reaching here Up until two weeks ago, they responded to my e-mails without any problems. My e-mail account is always active and it never blocks e-mails from known recipients. I would understand them not getting one e-mail but certainly not four!
No, I still haven't received any e-mails from them. They've taken my fucking money and my DVDs are still on backorder. Been well over 3 weeks now. Anyone have any suggestions on the next step?
Contact your credit card issuing bank saying you want to issue a chargeback. They should send you some forms to fill in asking for the necessary details. In the past i have found HSBC and Natwest to be very good. Halifax on the other hand were crap.
There's no quicker way, wankalot? Can't I just explain to them that I haven't received my goods and if Vidshop have a problem with it, they know my e-mail address.
You will have to explain to your bank that you haven't received your goods and that the merchant (vidshop) is not responding to your complaints. You may be able to do this over the phone or they may require you filling out a short form with a signature. They'll want some sort of explanation of events as they don't issue chargebacks willy nilly. It may be worth telling 'vidshop' that you are going to issue a chargeback as this will take your complaint to a much higher priority level.
I might try just telling them that I will issue a chargeback unless they respond to my complaints. This is absolutely fucking atrocious. Whatever happens, I ain't buying jack from them again, that's for sure. Mod note - if quoting, please only quote the relevant part of the post Edited by - Gabriel Nine on 7/11/2007 6:06:21 PM
Funnily enough, ukbadboy, they eventually responded yesterday (after I flooded their inbox with something like 60 e-mails) I told them I wouldn't stop until they gave me a response. They simply said 'please choose alternative titles' and in the meantime they did actually get a few good GGG titles so I said I'll have them instead. They are now ready to ship and will ship probably either today or tomorrow. Got the message across to them eventually, anyway. The one thing I can't criticize them on is their delivery. I get my dvds in about 2-3 days usually and I've never received a faulty one from them.
Ahhhh well thats good to hear...at least your getting some titles in the end..you live and learn about who to order from i guess, always good to know who's having what kinda experiences with different companies.i'll always offer any advice and/or my experiences to anyone on here about companies i do and don't use if its helpful to anyone....cheers for now.
Vidshop, I bought from them a few years ago. Took a long time to deliver my disk - I emailed them but no response. I thought I'd been shafted but lo and behold my disk eventually turned up - just when I'd given up on it. Suffice it say never ordered from them again.
