For the last couple of days, I have been getting a "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" message anytime I try to use the Comparison Cart. Anyone else having problems with it?

Does the cart need to go into the shop for a lube job and alignment?

No problems here.

But every now and then I get an error message and my browser closes out when I hit the back button.

Pete,
When I've had this problem in the past, it has always been because of one title.

Try zeroing out the quantity on one of the titles in the shopping cart, and try the comparison again. If it is still bad put the quantity back in for the first title and zero out the second. Keep doing this until you find out which title is giving you the problem.

Then e-mail Steph (webmaster@adultdvdtalk.com) with the title that is causing the problem. She can then investigat the problem.

I've had this problem a couple of times. One solution that has worked for me is to exit my browser and then delete all the cookies associated with ADT. Unfortunately, this also means that the contents of my Comparison Cart are lost, but its functionality returns. I print my list every week or two just so that I'll never lose it.

Ages ago, Drew talked about some updates & improvements that would allow multiple Comparison Carts; however, he got busy with things that pay the rent so, as I understand it, that project is on hold for the time being.

Bill Broderick, your solution worked for me. THANKS. If your solution hadn't worked, I was going to try GaySatyr's solution next.

Thanks for the help gents!

I recently rewrote the program we use that runs the price search data imports. The old program took an average of 15 minutes per store. The new one runs in 35-45 seconds.

There were a couple of bugs initially that allowed a few duplicate titles to slip into the database. These duplicates are causing the comparison cart to break. If you run into this problem just email Steph or I the contents of your cart and we'll fix the database.

You wouldn't believe how many of the stores in the price search list the same DVDs on their sites multiple times at different prices under different part numbers. I have no idea why they do this but it's one of the single biggest problems in trying to run an accurate price search.

I wrote a query that removed all duplicate titles for a store from the database this morning. While this fixes the comparison cart issue it has the side-effect of also removing the correct title along with any duplicates. It might be a few days until we get all of the correct ones linked up to the stores that had duplicates.
