Do any of you use US post office boxes to receive your shipments? What's been your experience? I'm not home that often, and missing packages is rather a nuisance.

And a followup question: I understand that UPS won't/can't deliver to a P.O. box, which is unfortunate. How's the USPS Priority Mail treat you?

xq--I use USPS exclusively now. UPS mis-delivered my packages a couple of times so I got a PO Box. No problems at all.

Priority Mail is cheaper & quicker than UPS for long distances.

I use a PO Box exclusively for mail order. I love it and wouldn't go back. Privacy is important to me.

As far as USPS Priority, I've never had a problem. Once, though, the local post office forgot to put a package slip in my box, and after waiting (too long) I had to ask them to go look. Lo and behold, they found it.

I can't get US mail at home. Love having a PO Box. Rely on priority mail for most things.

Been doing it for years now with no problems.
If it's a multidisc order, in a big box, the local PO just leaves it in one of the parcel lockers, then leaves the key in my PO box.

Much nicer than having UPS drop parcels on your front porch in the middle of the day. I've also tried having UPS ship to my work, only to have them try to deliver on Saturday when no one's there.

I've had very few problems with my PO Box and I've had it for years. The only consistent problem has been with bestprices.com on my mainstream purchases. I live in an apt and if I were to have my stuff sent here, I'd lose stuff all the time. This is one of the reasons I stopped buying from a few favorite companies-they only ship via UPS. I'm not having stuff sent to work and I already get too much stuff sent to my friend's houses (which takes forever for me to receive).
