Mainstream companies are unable to produce new content at this time, due to Covid-19. Companies are now releasing compilations and remasters. Brazzers started a compilation series, The Best of Brazzers. Naughty America continues to remaster scenes. Kink is scamming people by re-releasing old scenes as "Classic Releases" as new updates, and the original versions are actually longer scenes.
Personally, I think compilations are scams to manipulate porn customers. I already own the original movies. Why would I buy them again as a compilation? It is stupid to buy the same movie twice. My only exceptions to my rule are a complete package of a multi-part series in one full-featured film, and a remastered version in HD for a scene that wasn't released in HD.
I think the moral thing to do is to pause current memberships until companies are able to consistently release new films at their normal schedule. It is immoral and a scam a re-release an old film as a new "Classic Release" like what Kink is currently doing.
The "moral" thing to do? Morality is a ideological perspective and it's often used to manipulate others and guilt trip them by not conforming to that ideology so it's curious how you're lecturing people here about studios being manipulative.
Compilations are only scams if they are marketed as brand new titles. Like any entertainment medium, porn can be collectable to some people, especially to fans who are very enthusiastic about particular performers or studios so for the sake of completeness to them, compilations become collectable. That doesn't make it "stupid". Calling it stupid merely demonstrates ignorance and a lack of consideration on the accuser's part for views other than their own.
Not all compilations are the same as they can be compiled from different volumes in the same series or from different series altogether some time after the original movies went out of print. A studio may find in retrospect that certain performers across more than one title could be more popular than others or they may want to repackage a single performer's scenes with them as a "best of" DVD.
Do I care to buy the same scene or movie? No but I don't think it's stupid for others to do so, nor do I think it's "immoral" for a studio to create a compilation.

Excuse you. I am not attempting to manipulate people. I am certainly not going to kiss any company's ass for trying to scam customers like myself. It is a scam and immoral to re-release videos as new updates like what Kink is currently doing. Nobody buys a porn membership to receive a fake update of a "Classic" movie. That's a scam. There's not debate about it.
It is not ignorance to see a compilation as a scam nor is it ignoring other people's views. I certainly do not have to agree with anyone.
Yes, it is stupid to repurchase the same movie again. Porn is not like most forms of entertainment. People purchase the same video games due to re-releases may have new features. People buy uncut movies to see the full movie in its original form and are excited to see new scenes that were not in theaters. Porn compilations are nothing more than old content meshed together. Most companies advertise compilations as new updates and treat them as such.
Who said anything about kissing the ass of a company?
Other than an inflated sense of importance, I'm curious what makes you so virtuous and so righteous that you get to decide what's immoral or what is moral for others to do in protest of immorality.

This topic is a common sense issue. It goes back to customers like yourself being okay with many mainstream companies proving awful customer service or trying to manipulate customers.
A person does not need to be a scientist to realize a scam. Porn Company A releases a movie on March 4th, 2017 (random date for example). Then on May 10th, 2020, Porn Company re-releases the same movie as a "Classic Film" as the update for that day or week. Who would pay for the same movie twice? It's clearly a scam for any business to claim a old movie to be a new update for a membership.
Wankz's original site (not the VR site) has been doing this for a number of years. They constantly cycle movies in a strange rotation to give the illusion of being an active site. A movie may have been released on April 10th, 2013, but they take the video down for a while. Then, re-release it as a new update for May 11th, 2020. However, it is not a new movie.
Customer service in porn will continue to be an issue with people, who share your attitude.
I'm curious who these customers "like myself" are given that I didn't say poor customer service was acceptable but I suppose that making twisting opposing views into patently false accounts of what they said is how you deal with those who don't agree with you. You're either not very good at deduction or you are content to lie about what others said because you're unwilling or incapable of making a cogent or relevant counterargument.
Common sense is indeed important. With your example of content being released in 2013 then re-released in 2020, I tend to check who starred in it. While IAFD isn't perfect, it may highlight a given performer was heavily active from 2013 to 2016 for argument's sake but there is one title from 2020 in there. That would make me suspicious or at least question why there is such a big gap in production dates. Without an apparent comeback announcement for that given cast member, common sense would indicate it is either a compilation or very old unreleased footage. To date, that practice has never seen me buying the same content over and over. I would rather be vigilant than see a nanny state management of porn studios.
Questioning what makes you a model of virtue is not acceptance of or advocacy for poor customer service. This really should not have to be explained to you.

Questioning a model of virtue in this case is a sign of being okay with poor customer service from the porn industry. People do not normally question someone for pointing out any business reselling something and claiming it to be a new update. If Sports Illustrated reused the same articles from an old issue and claimed it was new, then there would be complaints. Nobody would question the morality of the topic. It would be as if a person asks, "why is racism wrong?". Yes, that is an extreme example. It shows a person's questioning is a sign of acceptance.
This may be a misunderstanding. I am not discussing DVDs. I am strictly discussing porn networks such as the examples in the first post. I am sure you know networks update once or more per week. That's part of the membership fee. People do not subscribe to subscriptions to get re-released movies with the exception of improved quality that wasn't available.
My opinion on this is that these studios are just trying to find a way to keep their business going just like every other business is doing outside of porn. I'm not a fan of compilations or remastered scenes at all because they don't do anything for me, so I simply get away from them. With all of that said, I don't purchase subscriptions on a regular basis as I am patient enough to wait on a bevy of updates that suit my wants.
I don't think pausing current memberships is the right thing to do because some members actually join certain sites to stream or download the older stuff that they released. Perhaps a discount would be nice, but it's probably not the most viable solution for certain studios that are trying to stay afloat under these current circumstances. I'm pretty sure that the most profitable studios wouldn't mind doing that, however.
I'm going to skip any mention of morality because AP as already given the perfect reply to that portion of your post. Instead I will simply concentrate on the core of your post. It's only a scam if the site is not upfront about the newly added content is in fact old content. Naughty America is guilty because they don't do that so unless you have followed their business model for a few years then you can be fooled into believing that this new content is actually recent instead of being years old.
Kink doesn't because if anyone reads the description of their videos then he/she can see when it's new stuff or from archive. Brazzer doesn't either. Now if you want to argue that sites should drop their join price for their sites if they aren't adding new content then go ahead but be forewarned that I don't think this should only be offered to active multi-month members because they are the ones affected by the updates while anybody just joining the site is getting access to the entire library for the first time and therefore doesn't deserve a credit.

I disagree with you on Kink. Yes, they say "Classic Re-Release" is from the archive. It is a scam to re-release a video as an update for a subscription. The original videos are already on the site. Why are there identical versions of the same movie on the site? Nobody signs up to a subscription to get the same item as an update twice. That would be very illogical. Do people expect a subscription service to repeat the same update for each week? No, they expect something new.
The issue in the porn industry is many companies do not announce major changes to their services. They won't tell you if they removed movies or will now charge you for downloads. Manwin recently removed videos from Brazzers and placed those same videos on Lil Humpers. I am not automatically against changes. I believe companies are required to be transparent to consumers about changes to their subscriptions. Maybe a first time subscriber joined for one video and now it is gone without notice.
^ I'm with you on transparency. This is something that should be addressed by the sites we join because we pay the content we consume from them. I currently have a subscription at FakeHub, and there is some acknowledgment on the site about its lack of content, which is at least something. It would be nice if this is addressed outside of the paywall, though, since that can help potential customers from making a decision as to whether or not they should purchase a subscription.
I see where you're coming from here, but I guess AngryPirate just didn't like your use of the word "moral."
I definitely agree that transparency is good practice and that re-released content should be pointed out.

@Datdood Fruhmsumware Correct. Some will say porn itself is immoral so the practice of making porn compilations with previously used footage being labelled as "immoral" becomes a moot point.
