I've just had a report from a visitor that she cannot see the side bar of either my blog or Peggy's blog under WindowsXP/IE

We can't replicate the problem.

If any of you would care to visit the the blogs and report back, I'd appreciate it.

It looks OK in Firefox and Opera, but Konqueror shows the problem too.

Looking at Peggy's blog, you have this:

Changing the comment delimiter from "--!>" to "-->" makes the problem go away.

No sweat.

A tip:
Your pages are labelled as XHTML Transitional.
Some XHTML parsers aren't as forgiving of small mistakes as HTML. They're not meant to be.

If you have the time, it could be a good idea to run your page through validator.w3.org and consider fixing the 100+ errors, it whines about.
Among other things, it catches those improperly closed tags.

An error-free page is less likely to trigger quirks in the various browsers.

Some of the stuff it complains about most in your blog are: Upper case tags (XHTML is lower case only), unquoted attribute values (HEIGHT=22 should be height="22" ), missing close tags ( missing, and
should be <br /> ).
