To start with: I'm not a computer-wizard. An explaining mail I received from the manufacturer didn't help me understand this problem, let alone help solving it (they ref'ed to here for possible cable issues).

I use an Inteset TP420 media server (on Microsoft's MCE), having an available gigabyte Ethernet port. A LaCie external HD is connected to this (so I'm able to physicly transport data easily). Inteset tells me to choose the RAID-5 option to best support the ext-HD. When drag&drop content to the ext-HD, the message "ehmsas. exe error!" pops up. When I set to RAID-0 or -1, copying content to the ext-HD is only so-so, as once in a while (say 1 out of 4 copies) the message "A critical Media Center process has unexpectedly failed. If problems persist, please restart your machine and try again. Code: 3" pops up. I use a generic CAT-6/RJ-45 cable (10ft), normally used without problems to connect a cable modem.

I've tried Microsoft's Mediacenter help-desk, but they seem to be comatose. Does any of you know how to solve this? Thanks.
