'industrial' group Throbbing Gristle and later the synth pop, proto-techno/acid house duo Chris & Cosey. She started off in the transgressive/shock performance group Coum Transmissions that later morphed into TG. Their performances included a lot of nudity, sex and body fluids. As part of one of her art exhibits, the rather infamous Prostitution, she used material that she had produced as a sex worker in UK softcore, European hardcore films and magazines. Believe the John Lindsay loop would have been shot illegally in the UK. I remember a wag who once said British sex films were a contradiction in terms, anyone seen Lindsay's loops? Wondering if anyone has seen her in any of these loops or films? I think I may have Satin Party in a Lasse Braun set, will have to dig it out of storage. Consisting largely of sex scenes cut for screening in the UK and shown intact elsewhere. The male star, Anthony Kenyon, had formerly been in the cast of Agatha Christie's celebrated The Mousetrap, still running in London after almost seventy years. Have seen a bit of Lindsay's vast output which mostly consisted of forgettable Loops. His most notorious was perhaps one shot in a real school featuring the actual head boy in 1974. [Link] |
