My problems began after I installed the "Patch Tuesday" Microsoft security updates on 11/10/2015. The fix -- which I detailed in the opening post of this thread -- uses the same "KB 3097877" name as the original bad update [o\\|] So, if you're running automatic updates, or performed manual updates, on 11/10/2015, you probably caught the bad update. Goldstein recommends that you install the new version update of "KB 3097877" Check your installed updates to see if and when "KB 3097877" got installed on your computer: Start > Control Panel > Windows Update > click on "View update history" See how I installed "KB 3097877" on 11/10/2015 Then, notice how the fix for "KB 3097877" got installed on 11/16/2015 (the very top update listed).
