Another reason why I'll never support gun bans and excessive gun control. None of these gun control advocates ever discuss the police show up after the crime 99% of the time. The only real chance you have is to learn to defend yourself when the animals show up at your place. Wishes someone had put these scum down. Now they'll probably get a short sentence and be back out doing it to someone else within five years.

^^I don't know that the accused will get short sentences, but I agree with you on guns. I own several. My partner owns a couple as does my daughter. As Cytherea says in her YouTube video, what happened to her can happen to anyone, no matter the neighborhood, etc. People have got to give up the naivety and be ready to protect/defend themselves if they are placed in danger.

...or she may not have become another raped woman and there might be three less scum of the earth here to rape and rob more people. I don't own a gun but i wouldn't dismiss the opinions of gun owners (provided they are responsible gun owners) out right. We don't know what would have happened had she had a gun and known how to use it however the rapists did have a gun,she didn't and we know how that ended up. For me, I would much rather have a gun and choose not to use it should i feel it would make my chances of survival less than not have a choice in the matter at all. Now off the gun topic this is a very tragic story and i wish her nothing but the best going forward and dealing with this trauma. In a way i would think these guys kind of killed her in the sense that she will never be the same and will have to deal with this the rest of her life. Does Nevada have the death penalty?

I'd hate to see a thread that should be about fans rallying around a victimized performer devolve into an acrimonious debate over gun control. Might be best to drop this whole tangent altogether.

I can't help but suspect this wasn't a completely random crime. Getting raped by a group of men in front of your family during a home invasion DOES NOT happen very often in this country. Isn't it too early to declare the situation so random with such little evidence?
As for the people talking about guns making this situation less violent. Please watch this video on a re-enactment of the the Charli Hebdo event. Every single scenario involving retaliation with guns ends in fatalities.

It is important that we are clear on what exactly is said to have transpired. I posted the following in Cytherea's thread:
There is nothing in that account that I find far fetched or in any way unrealistic.
Yet there is no contrary evidence that I know of.
I assume then that it would be a bad idea to call the police, being that they carry guns and all....

That dialogue sounds ridiculous. "Get your rocks off" & "bitches or hoes".It sounds like Glenn Beck wrote those lines or someone from another generation trying to sound like a thug.
Dudes from the hood who rob and rape don't talk like that. Never mind the fact that a robbery is a goal driven event time sensitive event where raping someone detracts from the goal and seriously increases the chances of identification and being caught, the likelihood that only one of them knew this is very low.

I'm not claiming to be an expert, but the account of events as presented in the news story misspornUSA posted doesn't hold up even to minor scrutiny.
How do you kick in a dead bolted door? I live in an apartment and I can't see anyway to do it no matter how strong you are.

^ Ahh, OK. No law enforcement background. So when you say, "Dudes from the hood who rob and rape don't talk like that" and then give us some insight into the methodology and minds of home intruders, you're basically just talking out of your ass. Gotcha.
Five seconds of Googling led me to this video. And this article. Now I'm not trying to present myself as an expert either. Like I said, all I did was Google "break in deadbolt door." But because I'm not an expert, I know better then to make baseless claims that aren't supported by any of the known facts or sources.
I wonder, if she was just an ordinary PTA soccer mom type instead of a pornstar would people be so ready to doubt her and her family's story?

People connected with law enforcement would probably be worse for identifying realistic teenage criminal dialogue. I'll chalk up the corny lines to transcription errors or a journalist trying to conjure something up to make this awful crime seem less awful. Its easy to hate on suspects when you group them in with stereotypes of black thugs. Being objective is my goal here. I hope everyone who committed these crimes is caught and convicted. I'd be willing to bet that she being a famous porn star was part of the motive and not just a pure random event.

You understand now why I am totally against porn who portray raping activities? Because there are lots of lightheaded male pussies out there who are imitating these actions and think that all women, even adult stars are enjoying being raped. In real life raping a woman is a terrible terrible crime and can leave many scars to the woman's psychology that can lead even to suicidal attempts. Sex is a pleasure offering action. Rape is destroying this feeling. It is like taking away from someone the ability to feel happy.
Trust me I know. I lost one of my best friends when I was younger. She was only 17. She commit suicide after getting raped. You cannot understand the damage raping causes to a woman unless you speak to one that is suffered.
(Be careful don't confuse self willed controlled S&M with rape. There is a huge difference in them)

So anyone that wants to be able to defend themselves with a weapon when your home is assaulted is a gun nut? Typical rubbish spouted by a gun control nut.
What's worse than getting raped in front of your family? I would take death in a gun fight over that. Maybe you would prefer your children and husband watching their mother get raped, I would prefer to arm up and fight back. Since it's ok for you to choose to not fight back, watch this happen to your spouse, and be able to do nothing saying to yourself "At least we're not dead", I'd like the option to resist the scum with the only kind of weapon you can when they show up in a group.
Of course, when five people show up at your house and rape someone, you can just fight them off...you know like a martial arts movie.
You're the clueless gun control nut that is full of shit. Guns are a force evener. Women should be the most pro-gun people in the world. It's often the only chance they have to resist violent males. The only problem is they must train to use them, have one available, and be prepared to use it without hesitating.
I advocate for citizens to have the means and right to defend themselves, their loved ones, and the sanctity of their home. It doesn't guarantee they will win, but it's better than being victimized with no chance of defense waiting for ARMED police to protect you from violent criminals that show up after you've been victimized.
Why you think it is better to be a victim and not have the means to fight back I do not know. I do know that it makes you far more full of shit than it does me.

What are you talking about? They killed a bunch of people anyway. Zero fatalities is not the goal. Fighting back is the goal to limit fatalities and the brutality of the crime. Not to prevent people from dying.
You post a video by anti-gun advocate as proof? Really? Nobody knows what happens once engaged. No reenactment is going to accurately portray outcomes.
I'm done with this talk. Some people would rather be victimized hoping to not be killed than fight back and take an active part in resisting their own victimization.

Having a gun debate on a porn forum is not the best use of our time, for either side. Regardless of why this happened or any speculation over details, it remains that it did happen, and someone many of us have watched and enjoyed perform was tragically victimized.
This was posted over in the Star Crossed forum. It's a link to her youcaring fundraiser site.
I can't begin to imagine what it's like to have to try to recover from something like this, but I'm sure kind regards, gifts, and fan community support can help.

I can not prove that I am not an elephant miss. You don't need much brain to understand what I am trying to say. I know that there are people who are turned on watching women bitten up, molested and unwillingly abused in every way possible. I would like to believe that these people exhaust their perversions in adult movie clips and don't go further practicing it in real life.
S&M, submissiveness, bondage, master and slave role playing and fantasy fulfillment is all part of the erotic game. Make no mistake, most of the women, besides virgins, like to start fucking slow and then gradually raise the pace till they feel you fuck their brains out. There are women they even like their partner to be slightly rough, showing decisiveness (or in other words who is the man). Yet, raping is different. Is not a part of the sexual practice. What you see in most of the adult movies is different, there the actresses are paid to do it and in any case they consent, the environment is fully controlled, the guys are professionals, meaning they are STD tested and are responsible in their actions. Plus there are a number of adult actresses (under these conditions) who are really dig this kind of treatment as part of some unfulfilled fantasy. The concept in these scenes is to offer to the girl adventures and pleasures that hasn't yet discover. They even use sexual aids like vibrators and other accessories to help the girl feel more comfortable. Well sometimes the results are not so good but the intention behind is good. At least this is what I want to believe.
Real life raping is totally different. There is no sexual responsibility there, no agreement from the part of the girl, there is harmful beating with real bruises, blood and puss. There is real horror and cries. Guys who might have diseases transfer them to the woman, leaving a victim full of scars and traumas who remained engraved in her heart and brain for ever. Let's not even talk about members of her family who witness this. The concept here is for the guys to do what they want no matter what the girl wants. There is no good intention. There is nothing beautiful in it, nothing sexy. It is a plain torture. That's all.
You might say that in the way I think then we must stop watching action movies with killings and violence in cinema as well. There is a big difference. Thankfully, in the vast majority of the movies there is a code of morality which states that harming people is wrong. That's why there is nemesis, punishment, redemption. If there is a movie that states the opposite, then there is something really really wrong behind it. RAPING in real life in any form is BAD, because it harms people and should never never be beautified or portrayed as good. Period.
You missporn, like many other mature viewers may have the brain to comprehend that huge difference between porn and real life. Yet, there are thousand others who don't and can't understand a thing. And these others believe that all women like to be abused and raped. And yes, from the moment tubes and downloaded links offered wide access to people who are not pornographically matured, I started to worry and I have a very good reason to. It is very logical assumption and I know that you understand it, even if you don't want to. I 've met the other side miss and I wish to you not to have similar experiences with your loved ones. If you did too, trust me, your adult preferences would be very different now.

^I have known more than one victim of rape in my lifetime and have nearly been raped myself. There is no question that real life rape is horrible. I am truly sorry that you had to experience the suicide of a friend and I have nothing but sympathy for her and the experience you had with her.
Now, no where in your comment do you offer one shred of evidence in support of the claim you made and to which I responded. I am not sure what you mean by a "very logical assumption," considering you offered nothing remotely reminiscent of a logical argument in your reply. "Rape is terrible and and I knew a rape victim, therefore male rapists are imitating what they see in 'rape' fetish porn" is not a logical argument.
It is not logical to make an assertion without evidence.

Cytherea being raped was horrible. I hope she is strong enough to survive and the rapists are caught, convicted, locked in prison and raped daily for the rest of their lives themselves by huge donkey dick Crips or Bloods. That would be karma being thrown in their faces (and asses) IMO. In a perfect world Cytherea and her family would be allowed to beat her (restrained) rapists with baseball bats, cut their dicks and balls off of them, shove them down their throats, fuck them up the ass with a sharpened 12 inch knife then lastly pour a gallon of gas into their assholes (a gasoline enema would work IMO) and light a match above their gas filled anal sphincters, painfully burning deep inside their asses for minutes until they finally die from their injuries and go burn in Hell for all eternity.
As for civilian rape victims in general, in my observation over the decades many female rape victims commit suicide within one year of the rape (and I at least somewhat understand why, thankfully I have never been raped myself). I sincerely hope Cytherea is one of those who survive. Before anyone claims that porn performers should be less damaged from a rape since they have sex with many multiple partners anyway I say there is a big difference between voluntarily fucking even the whole US Congress (which I am not claiming she did) and being forcibly raped by (likely) three products of both the juvenile justice system (which IMO should include more hard labor, torture and time locked in a windowless cell (nude) with nothing but a bucket or a hole in the ground to piss and shit in while their hands are handcuffed from behind and their legs chained together, maybe even hogtied so they can barely move and less coddling of the kids as they do now) and bad parents. Three months of being chained from behind or hogtied for days at a time drinking and eating like a dog and when let loose forced to do hard labor and beaten (I like Singapore's policy of caning rapists myself) should teach any kid not to rape and pillage society before they progress to actually forcibly raping women.
One more thing, I wonder if the rapists even knew Cytherea is a porn performer. Likely they did not IMO.
COMMENT: Edited by mharris127 after review and reading of moderator's post below. Apologies if editing was not appropriate, I have done this on my own initiative. Also, I hope Cytherea and her family both survive and become stronger because of this unfortunate event in their lives.

^ Thanks for the numbers, Janitor. I was commenting about my observations during my lifetime.
In retrospect my comment was probably a bit harsh. I am frustrated with the incidences of rape and rape/murder in this country and pissed that our judicial system isn't harsh enough to teach these miscreants a lesson before their crime sprees advance to forcible rape. I don't know if it is completely appropriate (since you did not request it be done or do so unilaterally) but I will take the initiative and edit the percentage figure out of my post as the tone of your post tells me that you think I was off kilter here -- and since you did do research and post (I will assume) scientific data. I am also old enough that counseling and medication management of these emotions has changed greatly since even my 21st birthday.
No matter what I think, I hope Cytherea survives and actually becomes stronger because of this unfortunate act against her and her family. It is possible for some people (since I haven't met her and don't even know what she looks like I cannot comment on the likelihood of this).

If you lived in a large metro area it might be different. Taking this story, and twisting to suit some warped view of reality does not change anything.. And I have been around guns most of my life. My Father, Grandfather did, and Uncle's all own guns. Some pretty interesting ones.

I assure you I am perfectly stable (and my psychiatrist concurs). I just believe rape is the worst thing a person can do to someone (I know I would rather be killed than raped) and also a just punishment for forcibly raping an innocent person like what happened to Cytherea. If you have any other suggestion that keeps rapists from raping people outside of prison besides spending $40K a year to keep them in prison I am listening (I would rather torture and kill them, broadcasting the torture on national TV as a deterrent to future rapes but the Supreme Court ruled that only murderers may be executed). I think if a rapist gets a taste of his own medicine fifty times a year during his prison stay along with being neutered he will get the message that rape is unacceptable.

^So you pretty much think that Cythera's rape would be worse than if she got murdered? No wonder you need a (pseudo) psychiatrist. You are not stable and should not be part of the people who defend rape victims. I wonder where this ferocious rage is coming from.

^ Retribution rarely does anything to mitigate the behavior and often promotes more outlandish behavior.
People who commit acts of sexual abuse are battling deep rooted unresolved issues that can only be resolved with professional help. What you are suggesting would continue the cycle of sexual abuse that they themselves are linked to.

I would be glad to explain my comment further. If someone is murdered he/she (hopefully) goes to Heaven and doesn't have horrible memories of a sexual assault on her mind his/her every waking moment. If someone is sexually assaulted (especially a woman) she will likely be haunted by the sexual violation of her person for the rest of her life. Rape is very hard on someone mentally as it is a violation of the most private parts of a person and causes great emotional pain in a person that never completely goes away. I know I would rather be murdered than raped by far. Maybe you haven't ever met a rape victim but I have (and even discussed it with them) and it really messes with someone's emotions and most never fully recover mentally (most of the rape victims I know of have actually committed suicide because of the emotional trauma -- although with advanced counseling techniques and medication the number of rape victims that survive more than one year after the rape has increased remarkably according to Steph's sources, I can only think of about five people that I know personally that actually survived more than one year after the rape, four were molested/raped as a child without other violence by someone that was supposed to protect them and only one was actually a forcible rape).
I also disagree that my "rage" is uncalled for in this case. I think if you were to talk about rape to a victim of one and saw how it affects them emotionally you would want the rapist punished physically as well. Rape really fucks with a victim's mind in ways that you and I have trouble comprehending.

^ I certainly understand your desire to see rapists suffer. People very close to me have been the victims of rape and I've indulged my in my share of revenge fantasies, although none quite as extreme as yours. But I think it's importanat to tell rape victims, that with the appropraite treatment and support, they can move past it and heal. It doesn't have to be a life-defining trauma from which they never recover. This article, written by a woman who was raped, gets at the point nicely:
What happened to Cytherea was horrible beyond belief. But with the support of her friends, family, and fans, I hope she can get through this and come out strong on the other side.

^ Thank you. This is exactly what I wanted to say. The ways in which people try to characterize sexual assault and rape as utterly soul destroying are well-intended, I'm sure. Certainly rape and sexual assault are terrible crimes and should be taken very seriously. However, reactions often slip into oppressive white knighting and this weird paternal attitude that assumes a sense of ownership and treats women's sexuality is this sacred, untouchable thing. In turn, such attitudes can wind up making women feel tainted and remove their agency. It's really quite unpleasant to be treated in that way.

^ Being male I really probably don't understand a woman's psyche. However, I have used the phrase "go pick on someone your own size" many times over the years. Unfortunately many times rapists pick the small and weaker women, some even rape children. That makes them chicken shit as well as scumbags that deserve a torturous death. At the last university I worked at we had a criminal law professor (who was attractive and small -- a position I will never be in -- as well as one hell of an effective sex crimes prosecutor before leaving the largest county prosecutor's office in Michigan and taking the tenured professor job) that said rapes are usually not about attractiveness, it is about power to them. I believe her assertion to be true in many if not most rape cases. She can talk about cases she prosecuted that would make your jaw drop to the floor and your tongue fall out of your mouth due to the utter cruelness and audacity of the perpetrators (I can think of one that really incensed me that unfortunately wasn't considered CSC under MI law but I still consider at least molestation, a kid's father would cruelly pinch and squeeze the three year old kid's penis every time he pissed or shit his pants, this perp was convicted of child abuse, sent to get molested/raped himself in prison and the kid was placed for adoption -- WTF was this guy thinking doing that to a three year old kid no matter how hard it was to potty-train him, the other cases I can think of I don't dare post because they are too lewd for even a porn forum). I know I have two sisters not much more than half my age (I was actually an adult when they were born) and we made sure they knew how to defend themselves while still young, one is bigger than most men and fights just like a man as well but the other is not that big, nonetheless she certainly can fight her way out of most situations. I can honestly say that if even smaller women can take a bit of time and learn self-defense she will likely be better off, spend some time in the gym lifting weights if you have to but find someone that knows how to punch a perpetrator and can teach you how to do so effectively as well.

My dear missporn, I read many of your posts and I concluded that you are a social, smart, reasonable and well educated person. So I know that you understand very well what I am saying and certainly the sentence you wrote above does not, by any mean, represent the logic under my previous posts. I passed many hours trying to think what I will write to you but I understood that I just loose my time. Whatever I write or say you won't accept it because I am considered by you as a threat after going against your pornographic preferences. But that is not true. I know that you enjoy watching "adventurous" porn with lots of S/M and rough spice on it. There are many scenes we even share common interest as I comprehend your urge for something different. Yet there are some red lines I can't personally cross not only because of my personal experiences but mostly because it is becoming plain repulsive. I can estimate you have your own lines too since you met raping victims, though are different than mine. In any case you understand what you are watching. In any case you are clever enough to understand that this is porn not reality. Porn is a show, it is fiction. Most of the people are professionals, the action and the environment is controlled and in any case the women know, expect even plan themselves what will happen.
Some things we watch in movies or we read in books we cannot replicate in real life. Yet, there are lots of lightheaded folks out there who are imitating actions they watch or read in media or even done by other people in their surrounding. These folks do not have the education or the brain power to fully understand what they do or the critical conscience to distinguish the right from wrong. So it is easier to be misguided into actions which are harmful for the others and have severe consequences for themselves too. I don't need to prove this, that is a fact. The human history is full of such examples.
But if you want a proof here is one fresh.

These are some quick samples I just found on google I can find a lot more, so many examples, studies or books you will get sick reading... But that is not my point. I am not gonna condemn porn because of some moronic teenagers believe they are Christian Grey. As I cannot blame Action Movies because a brainless kid took a gun and started to shoot people in his school pretending Rambo. But we cannot also close our eyes on this. Because it is a reality. Unfortunately guns and some kinds of porn are NOT intended for all ages and certainly NOT for sexually or mentally immature individuals. So we have to stop the free access to them or we have to educate them somehow that what they see in the movies or in porn is a part of a show and they do not by any mean represent reality.
Rape and excessive violence is NOT a fetish or a fantasy and by definition does not belong to the Adult Industry Philosophy. These activities are harming the Industry and all the sexy female performers that work in it in many direct or indirect ways. Like hooligans harm the athletic spirit, like fanatics destroys religion's philosophies, like false notes distort a music symphony. They give a stand to all of those who say that porn is bad and evil driven. They create laws that sweep not only the bad elements but some of the good ones along. They give reason for stupid persons to believe that all women like to be beaten up and used like rug dolls. They cause beautiful and sexy women to retire early from the adult stage. Raping cannot be beautified in any way even there are audience who like to see it in movies. In the same logic war cannot be beautified war even if we like to see movies like Fury or play games like Call of Duty.
I understand mHarris rage... because I felt the same when this happened to my friend. What I felt about the rapists that time it would make mHarris post sound like a penalty report for parking ticket. Yet I think in the end that avenged violence will not help soothing the scars from the trauma. Then again when I hear similar cases about kids I really think imprisonment is not the proper punishment measure for these people.

If you could cite a few serious studies that support your claim I will accept them.
Nope. We just have a difference of opinion.
1. 50 Shades of Grey is not rape-fetish porn, or even porn at all. Not even softcore, not even close.
2. Minors should not be watching porn in the first place. It's illegal.
3. "https://sparklematrix.wordpress.com/ is marked private by its owner. If you were invited to view this site, please log in below. Read more about privacy settings."
4. Again, we are back to the irrelevant example of minors illegally viewing porn.
Are you sure about that?
Here's a quote from an excellent NY Times article published a few years back:
Again, what are you basing your conclusions on? Facts or feelings?
Let's take another look at your earlier comment.
Are you implying that there is a link between Cytherea's real life rape and rape-fetish porn? Is there any evidence of such a link?

But all of that is okay because he was defending her honor.

It isn't even so much defending her honor, more like using violent punishment as both a tool to exact revenge for the damage they did to both society and her as well as to deter others from raping in the future. Some feel that my method of cleaning up society is not ok (even though you essentially say since I am "defending her honor" you might at least consider agreeing with me others do not), I get that. Unfortunately we have tried the way of those that say we should not torture convicts and since about 1960 when that train of thought came into vogue the crime rate -- especially rape and murder which is what concerns me greatly -- has skyrocketed. Before that rapists were tortured in prison and then executed in most states (pretty much every state but Michigan which hasn't had the death penalty since before being admitted into the Union, here they were just tortured almost daily for the rest of their lives). At the least execute them so they cannot rape again, that would be a good start even if the method of execution were to be painless. That would save thousands of women from being raped and even possibly murdered.

Actually the violent crime rate has declined dramatically over the past two decades. The widely held perception that our society is riven with violent crime is the result of media sensationalism. And the decline in crime probably isn't the result of harsher sentences and the massive increase in the incarceration rate. There's very compelling evidence that it's the result of lead abatement policies. Pretty crazy huh?
Anyway, while I agree that harsh sentences for rapists are justified, I think we need to shift the discussion about rape prevention in a different direction. Focusing solely on deterrents and putting the onus on women to prevent getting raped is wrong headed. We need to educate young men to reject sexual violence. What happened to Cytherea was tragic, but we should acknowledge that it was a pretty unique scenario. Most rapists aren't home invaders or strangers in darkened alleys. Most rapists know their victims personally. They are friends, family, co-workers, boyfriends, and husbands. We need to put an end to a culture that allows these men to think they are entitled to sex and that sexual violence is acceptable. I think this poster says it all:

Oh please. The minute a current or former performer so much as stubs their toe, the white hatters in the crowd such as yourself want to ride to the rescue. While I'm not comparing this case to stubbing a toe, you get the idea. Because it was a porn performer suffering an unjustice, you went off on some very elaborate methods of revenge to deal with this particular offenders. Point of note, prison isn't a deterent for everyone, but more of a cost of doing business. What you propose to do to prisoners goes against the very fabric of what this country was founded on.
A few questions for you. Since you're on your high horse about this whole rape issue, do you feel this way about all rape cases or just this one? Since you're going to say all rape cases and not just this one, do you volunteer at the local rape crisis center? Why not? Didn't think so.
Secondly, would you still approve of your treatment methods listed above if you were wrongly convicted of rape? Didn't think so.
