In fact, imagine discarding everything ever recorded in any medium the day after the person involved in their creation died, because it was commonly considered to be somehow "disrespectful" to the deceased person in question to do anything but ignore them to "honour" them. As a species we would be even more ignorant and primitive than we already were with zero references to learn from our own history and/or our own mistakes. This would be one of the weirdest things a so-called intelligent species could ever do.

I realise that porn is not exactly a "learning" medium that would massively effect future generations if the medium was constantly erased as each performer passed away. But the ridiculous perspective motivating doing such a thing would be no different regardless. It just wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.

I'm guessing that the only real difference is that people deep down feel guilty somehow for masturbating and that if the performer they are watching onscreen has since died... that "guilt" becomes difficult to avoid for some people. But realistically, people making love to their lifelong partner while listening to Elvis, or David Bowie, or Aretha Franklin, or Bob Marley, or Kurt Cobain etc. in the background should feel equally as guilty for "getting off to dead people".

I often find it weird where people "draw the line" without applying it to everything else and being blind to the contradictions within their own perspectives. Which people do A LOT these days without ever really thinking about it.

Ultimately, whether a person continues to watch dead performers is a personal decision for them to make for themselves. And people should accept those decisions even if they can't agree with them.

I honestly was sad when Jessica Jaymes passed. She was one favorite performers when I started watching porn. Her early scenes in her career were some of my favorite scenes. But it sucked to know she was struggling late in her career.
