Did they send you a confirmation e-mail back when you originally registered the product? Do you still have it? If so, see if there is any information there that might help you.

Now I am getting a message from Norton saying my subscription will be automatically renewed this January unless I go into my account there and switch off the automatic renewal. The trouble is I have forgotten my password to my account there and when I try to reset my password it keeps giving me a message to the effect that my password is not secure enough. I have tried at least a dozen passwords with mixed numbers and letters and even tried to use This is horseshit and sucks monkey balls as a password and I keep getting the same message. This does not fall under any of their support issues they handle by E-mail and I will let someone hit me in the balls with a meat tenderizer before I wait 30 minutes for one of their support monkeys to help me on the phone. Short of going Unibomber on them what does anyone recommend. [Link] |

If they do and they intend to start billing you again, you might just have to jump through their hoops to get it canceled. Or just call your CC company and tell them the process for canceling with these guys is ridiculously convoluted and troublesome and see if there's anything they can recommend. Most credit card issuers will immediately remove the charge and contact the company that made the charge (in his case, Norton) and make them prove that it is a valid charge. I once had a case where the charger tried to put the charge back on the card and my credit card issuer removed it a second time. [:P)] [Link] |

Norton Removal Tool It removes all of the remnants left behind in the Registry that even CCleaner (I'm a long-time user of CCleaner) can't find. You have to click on the appropriate year & type you had. A free program I recommend using to uninstall programs is Revo Uninstaller It's excellent at getting all of the remnants in the Registry. I've only had it for a couple of weeks and so far it's worked phenomenally. The link I provided has a video from CNET about it as well as the download. [Link] |
