WHATEVA Click to expand One of the things that I hate about porn is producers and directors' obsession with always casting new girls. I believe they do this in spite of what fans actually want. Those of us that aren't causual watchers want to see the ladies that we really like. The obsession for "fresh faces" is causing a constant turnover in porn that I don't care for. Casual viewers of porn have no idea who any of the ladies are. They have no idea if they're new, veterans, or huge stars. It's all the same to a casual viewer. One of the main problems with porn is that there's not enough business types and too many men that are shooting porn just to get laid. And of course the guys shooting strictly to get laid are going to want new performers IE "strange pussy". Porn needs more business minded perverts that understand what consumers want. I defy anyone in porn to supply me with evidence that viewers want the constant flow of new performers. I certainly don't see any threads of that nature on ADT. There's no demand or out cry for more fresh flesh. It's my belief that not many women have the emotional strength and maturity that I'm sure it takes to survive in porn. It doesn't seem right to me that women such as Dana who have what it takes to sustain a career in porn rarely get cast so that new faces can appear in movies. New faces that are likely to be out of porn very soon. Do pornstars that don't have a meltdown really retire? Or does work just dry up for them due to the obsession with fresh faces? All of this is compounded by the fact that there's more women wanting to appear in porn then ever before. I believe this is because we now have an entire generation of women and men that have grown up with the constant bombardment of internet porn. There's going to be more and more young women with stars in their eyes that want to shoot porn to be a star and actually have a sustained career. I don't have anything to support this but I wouldn't doubt that in the past (the 90's) a lot of women in porn were doing it strictly to charge more as escorts or go from house dancer to feature performer. This element still exsists I'm sure and further ups the turnover rate in porn and again decreases the amount of work available for performers like Dana. In short I agree with you Dana and sympathize with your situation. I hope things get better for you but I don't have much faith in the porn industry outside of a few directors and producers. I wish the gonzo side of porn operated more like the features side of porn. [Link]
