I see that VCX has remastered and reissued the movies Devil In Miss Jones and Debbie Does Dallas in new dvd versions, and I just wanted to see if anyone has actually seen these yet and can comment on the dvd quality, and whether or not it is worth buying these new versions if you have the old VCX versions they released a few years back? Oh and what footage was actually missing from the original dvd releases as the new ones say they are fully uncut, implying that the older releases weren't?

I'd like to pick it up, but it isn't available at any of the places I've checked. I may have to break down and buy it directly from VCX.

I have it on order, backorder unfortunately, from Laser's Edge right now. To the best of my knowledge Debbie Does Dallas, the VCX release -- not the NuTech release, was uncut. Apparently The Devil in Miss Jones was missing six minutes of footage in the original release.

Flash, can you report back on the A/V quality when these turn up? The original Devil In Miss Jones is one of my favourite adult movies so I'll probably end up getting these. I'm just a little wary about upgrading to a version that might still be lacking.

I received it today and this is my opinion, bear in mind this is not a review but just skimming through the discs.

It comes with a nice box. This is about the best of the set. The discs have been remastered, but I'm not sure that there is any additional footage. Unless you want the nice box, I'd pass if you already have the original issues.

DMJ
The original VCX release ran for 66 minutes and 23 seconds. This release runs for 66 minutes and 9 seconds. The film is on one track now. There are extras, but nothing worth picking up the set for. English and Spanish audio, a crappy photo gallery, trailers for DMJ, Debbie Does Dallas, The Blonde, Candy Lips, Little Girls Blue 1, Inside Desiree Cousteau and Sex World. There are also VOD files on the disc for A Dirty Western, China De Sade, Sex World, Tangerine and Ultimate Reel People volume 1. These are a rip off though as each one costs you $7.95 for three days viewing and can only be done on a computer as they are Windows Media Files and you have to aquire the license for each one. As with the original disc, the film is not in it's OAR. Transfer looks roughly the same, might be slightly better.

Debbie Does Dallas
The original NuTech release ran for 83 minutes and 40 seconds, the first VCX release ran for 83 minutes and 33 seconds. This release runs for 83 minutes and 40 seconds. The film is on one track now. Again, there are extras, but nothing worth picking up the set for as they are essentially the same, English and Spanish audio, a crappy photo gallery, trailers for DMJ, Debbie Does Dallas, The Blonde, Candy Lips, Little Girls Blue 1, Inside Desiree Cousteau and Sex World. There are also VOD files on the disc for A Family Affair, Good Morning Taija Rae and Little Girls Talking Dirty with the same cost specs as the other disc. As with the original disc, the film does not appear to be in it's OAR and the transfer looks the same as the first VCX release.

Thanks for the report. I was hoping they found better source material for these reissues, but I guess not. I'll stick with my originals.

Likewise. Thanks for getting back to us on this, Flash. On a related note, I'd planned to report back on the Video-X-Pix release of Through The Looking Glass but Five Star don't appear to be stocking it. I'm still planning to acquire it and will post regarding the quality as soon as I get it.

Just to let everyone know I got the Ultimate Classics set of Debbie Does Dallas/Devil In Miss Jones and I can confirm that The Devil In Miss Jones is missing footage and missing some dialogue that was present in VCX's older dvd release. What the hell is wrong with VCX advertising this new release as completely restored, like they have new footage, they don't even have the footage they had in their old release! This will be the last dvd from VCX that I ever buy. They have a lot of movies I want to see, but any company that is this deceptive won't get my money ever. Oh and while I'm on VCX fuckups, here's some more great quality stuff I've seen from them, on their dvd of Expensive Tastes, they actually have footage from another movie spliced into that movie for about 3 seconds, like someone recorded another movie onto the videotape that they used for their master for the dvd.

On Expensive Taste, after the 3 seconds of footage (with Tom Byron, Ginger Lynn and another female if I remember correctly) a few seconds of the scene that you have already seen repeats as well.

You are correct Flash, they could easily have fixed that problem on Expensive Taste by using a simple video editing program to clip out that section that was inserted from another movie, and they could have removed the part that repeats itself. I'm amazed at the incompetence of whoever is creating these dvd's for VCX. But the worst thing about them is that they intentionally are lying to people about their new dvd of The Devil In Miss Jones being "totally restored" as they put it. At least those who read the forum will have advance warning though.

Vivid are to include a copy of The Devil In Miss Jones alongside their remake. I'm not expecting any significant improvements and imagine it will be sourced from one of the VCX releases.

SDC: Do you have any more info on Vivid's forthcoming remake? Last I heard it was supposed to come out this fall.

I see it's up for preorder coming out in October, still a ways off, but I'm looking forward to this movie.

Not really, Flash. The only reason I know they're including the original is that Adult Video Universe has it for pre-order. It's going to be a three-disk set and is released in September.

Heavens above. I've just noticed there's a trailer available as well. I've got high hopes for this one.
