"The girls who work in porn indrusty in Europe are just very different to those in the US.Victoria Swinger for example loves her work and its very important to her that she always gives 100% and looks forward to shoot days.A New York journalist spoke to me during the Budapest Festival in 2004 and was telling me about the differences between the US and Euro scenes. She said that in US the porn scene based around $$$ whereas in Europe it was based around "enjoying themselves and having a lot of fun". A good example of this is-at the Szeged Festival two weeks ago,Victoria would come up to me after every show and say "did you like it,was it good, did it look okay, etc".It really matters to her,and this is the true for most of the Euro models from Czech and Hungary. To them it's a job,it gives them fame and a very interesting life style".
I'm a big fan of European porn but i love American too.For my opinion Europe has more beautiful and natural porn girls(especialy from East block)but US have better companies and directors.Possibly American porn girls are more professional and interest only for $$?I'd like to hear others opinions!
Bowing to "contemporary community standards" of some backward villages throughout the whole country in the US.

cris, this mainly looks like some promo-article for Victoria Swinger. Maybe from machomedia.hu?
I dont see that difference. All porn girls do what they do at least to some extent because of the money. True, in the US you find more sex worker professionals shooting and dancing and maybe some escorting only. In Europe there is no dancing circuit, so either they only shoot once in a while or shoot and escort. This leaves a bit more place for the so-called natural, or unprofessional approach on scene. (I am not talking about looks here - Euro looks are more natural of course).
Of course US-directors and companies are lightyears better than European ones, but since most of them shoot in Europe too, that doesnt actually matter.
I think the main difference is that Euro girls are easier to work with, do flake less and are a bit cheaper to shoot.
I usually see myself as a Euro-porn girl lover, but actually there have been times when I was much more focused on US-girls. At this very moment again I see more natural potential over the Ocean, whereas Euro talent pool seems to be very inert/dried out. But it comes and goes in waves.
Generally, I think every good director choosing the girls carefully can get good results no matter wheter its a US-porn girl or Euro cast only. Just look at JJ who nearly exclusively works with US-girls.
i usually find the euro stuff i like to be more aesthetic (marc dorcel for instance)And the US stuff to be how many cocks can we get in this girl! Both good but there is a difference.
Of the stuff that makes it to the US, a lot of the directors and companies are the same. The RLD , PXP , Digital Sin , Zero Tolerance , and Third Degree footage is filmed by Americans going over or European directors that have worked extensively with Americans and have lines in American companies.
Oh, and the standard porn star interview says that they enjoy anal, gargling cum, always have an orgasm while filming, etc. I wouldn't take that too seriously. Look how many porn stars jumped on the first contract they got, then faded away. If they all enjoyed everything they did when they got in the buisness, far more would stay in gonzo. I don't see that the more in-demand ones would make less money. In fact I could see far more money.
Do you mean the European girls who work for American directors ? Because it seems likely that a higher proportion of European porn is made up of features than is the case in the US .
Differences have been discussed in another thread . But for a few thoughts , howsabout - European features can contain US gonzo levels of debauchery ; European gonzo just doesn't 'work' (for me) somehow ; probably a greater range of beautiful women ; and no contract system worth the name .
Big difference in movies and star quality is usual lack of theme. Private and Dorcel still make a story most of the time. There hasn't been a script in the most popular porn in the state, gonzo, possibly ever. Hell, Drive Thru by Zero Tolerance makes a line out of not having anything but fucking going on.
Also, besides Stacy Silver and Nikki Rider, very few starlets have breast augmentation. This is crucial for me. Once they pump up, I am usually disinterested (except for Brittney Skye and Eva Angelina, they still rock.)
In short, Euro is clinging to ideals that the US abandoned in the early 90's.
you really can't state an opinion on this without some huge generalizations.
Here's some of my own: -European stars generally look more sophisticated and elegant -In the US there's a greater attempt to look barely 18 and "street-walker" with ridiculously high heels. -European action is generally always the same (suck, eat, vaginal, anal (if group sex DP), facial) -In the US the good looking men are doing gay porn. -European scenery is forests, castles or a sound stage. -US scenery is a large unfurnished house, a pool, a bedroom, a van or a warehouse. -In Europe they seem to say "We Oh We" a lot too

I agree. But I prefer the barely legal girls.
Good looking men doing gay porn - my take is that gay men (no offense please) are producing much of the porn today. With rediculous excuses, lack of imagination and softer porn in recent months, most of my porn dollars are going to the foreigners. There are exceptions of course, but rare.
"We Oh We" - that's about the only thing that's gotta go.
You don't be so sure.FIRST double anal gonzo serie started at Europe in 1997(Double Anal Club by director Frank Thring) and now dap is very popular in US.Seems Euro girls really love hard sex and enjoy the job!American girls sometimes are "fake" for me and too much professional.
Aps, Germans, they are the exception that confirm the rule. GGG (i've seen almost everything, recently the SexBox series), KitKatClub, SG. Ok, ok. :) But the quality European porn movies equivalent to American (Vivid and similars) are softer and very boring. For instance, the prize winners. I refer to people like Salieri, Bosch, Dorcel... Moreover, European gonzo girls are harder in American productions.
Interesting, I fail to see the heat in generic gonzos, and since Private et al. offer at least something other than the couch for the eye, the mechanic sex-robot style is much more evident in generic gonzos.
I wonder the same Gapelover and i had opened thread for this reason(i think and you)! But who cares? Euro girls are the most beautiful and the best gapers on planet!
That is different. Time is money and nobody is going to fly to Europe to film a feature. Some of the women speak English, but how much? Is it really worth flying to Europe to film all the non-sex parts? I think as a producer you want to maximize your time and put a number of scenes in the can. I bet within the European porn industry they do features. I don't know if they have a similar contract system for their feature stars in Europe though.
Might not want to mention that dog, Walter. Actually, I don't know that the performers were to blame for it, but Sextet was an unmitigated cock-up, IMO.

So, PT did go to Europe twice at least to shoot features. I was thinking about some shoots he made in Buda in 1998 or 1999 -- it's difficult to tell with Vivi'd release schedule. Films -- yes Tony, films -- like Talent Scout , Jeckyll and Hyde and Escape from Carpathia .

Ah, yes. Talent Scout wasn't too bad, Jekyll and Hyde wasn't so good, though it did have the sultry Kate More in it, and I don't even remember Escape from Carpathia.
I liked it. Although the title was misleading. For a rerelease Vivid should name it THE HORNY DAUGHTER OF DR. JECKYLL.

Yeah, this is about tho only difference I can see. Despite the fact that Euro porn is dead compared to US porn as far as number of titles released are concerned.
As far as we are talking about the girls I still think the main difference is that Euro girls are easier to work with, do flake less and are a cheaper to shoot.
European men seem to naturally be a bit more dominant. I can tell when the many popular American men are 'acting' dominant. I don't think I've ever liked an American male performer...at least not enough to watch his video more than once. If that. Most European women seem to work at it harder. Give more.
It's right what you said. Maybe you shouldn't watch more Private features.
Watch gonzo from Christoph Clark and you will see that the same girls who fuck like sex robots in Private movies act totally different and natural in a Christoph Clark movie. It alls depends what the director wants, how the chemistry between the actors is, and if the girl feels comfortable on the set.

My perception of the difference between the US and Euro porn industries at the moment is that whilst the US is flooding the market with almost identical gonzo movies (mostly shot on the same couch in the same house!), Euro movies provide much greater variety, have mostly prettier girls, and are prepared to take greater risks with big budget ultra hardcore movies with an interesting story.
Wait, wait, wait. If we are talking of European movies, we must talk of, precisely, this. The gonzo filmed by Europeans is not what we are talking. Gonzo by Vidal, Holmes, Ferrara, Clarke, etc, is American porn filmed in Europe by cuasi foreign people, but American porn. The really European porn is produced in Europe. Autochthonous way. The actors imported years ago have the American way. Or are Scorsese and Coppola European directors? Really?
I just don't understand why a movie produced/directed by a European, CC, e.g., shot on location in Europe, using European performers (I guess the production company is European also, albeit the world wide distributor may be US-based) is regarded as an US-movie.
Brits would kill you on sight, if you tell them the latest James Bond movies are US productions, e.g., even if they use US-directors and performers; French probably would go into a state of crying hysteria and throw pieces of cotton wool at you, if you tell 'em "The Fifth Element" is an US production.
And at least Vidal, Clarke and Holmes started in autochtonous European productions, European as European can get. Classifying them as quasi foreign directors/actors is a little bit farfetched.
And then we haven't started with features yet. I mean it is a tiny little bit useless, comparing wall-to-wall with feature. If, then compare the generic Wicked/Vivid/Digital Playground with Private/Dorcel/Salieri.
And calling the generic V-i-v-i-d product hard! My grandmother reads romance novels, which contain harder stuff!
That performers "act harder" in wall-to-wall movies may be true, but this is not a matter of European vs. American, but a matter of different genres. I also doubt that the generic European features lacks the "hard acting", I mean anal is anal, DP is DP, and a dildo with circumference X is a dildo with circumference X, no matter if in a gonzo, vignette, artcore, wall-to-wall, feature or whatever movie.
Follow the money , or follow the creative juices ? In the case of porn , and especially for gonzo , I'd say creative juices are at a premium and money is king . All those Evil Angel and RLD directors mentioned are European it's true , but they're making their product mainly for an American audience . That's where I draw my definition from . Christoph Clark has shot for VMD and those were European features with European money , European actresses , taped in European countries , and sold mainly to a European market . He's also shot for Evil Angel and those are American gonzo's with American money , European performances , European locations , sold mainly to an American audience . Of course everyone's free to disagree with me if they wish . They just have to accept that they'd be wrong !
(I'm aware Evil Angel probably doesn't finance it's director's projects in quite so straight forward a manner)
From what I've seen European features tend to be more hardcore than their American counterparts , especially in the better known companies on both continents (Vivid/Private , Wicked/Dorcel , DigitalPlayground/Salieri) . Anal in every scene , often DP's , some rape stuff , murder , all that kind of thing . In my opinion there's as great a gap between a Wicked feature and some Salieri features as there is between Shannon Tweed soft core and full penetration pornos .
I would like to believe that we Europeans are the sophisticated connaisseurs of euro-feature and euro-porn extravaganza in general.
But why are euro-versions of the "US-porn" produced, and why do PXP, RLD, Sin City, Mayhem et al. hold at least - approximately - 25% of rackspace in the videostore I usually visit?
