I've been reading "Digital Playground is collapsing" stuff on his site since the end of last year. The quality of their product has suffered over that span, in my opinion, but they seem to still be cranking out movies regularly.
the guy never shuts up so given the sheer amount of stuff that comes spewing out some of it is bound to be correct, but there's a lot of what he has said that never happened and was completely un-true.

That's been my experience with Rob Black's outlet, for sure. But with Mike South, it seems like he's usually onto something more often than not. All of that aside, it's undeniable that DP has been a mess in the last year or so.
Aren't they still releasing stuff that was shot a while ago? I read somewhere that they were releasing movies that were shot last year!!! Don't know if that's true or not. Edited by - lezlover on 7/24/2013 2:55:20 PM
^ well they've always done that, it usually takes them 6 months to a year to release a movie. I think there have been a few exceptions like when Stoya first started shooting again they got her first movie out in like 3 months, but yea for the most part they take awhile to release movies.

They do, but Jesse Jane's latest release has a date of production of February, 2013.
We weren't debating DP's release schedule. We were trying to figure out whether there was any truth to the story saying that Jesse Jane stopped doing B/G late last year.

^ His twitter bio says he's Head of Production/Creative Director for Digital Playground. In some of his tweets he says he's doing PR. Keiran tweeted that he's the person for talent to contact to work for Digital Playground.
I saw that, too. And at the 1:27 mark on the video it says he directed Lollipop. I have no idea what it means in context, but it looks like DP has someone else directing. Trailer looks good, too.
that trailer looks pretty artsy... and who are those dudes in it? didn't recognize a single one.

Seems like Manwin is cleaning house at DP. I've thought for a while now that they needed to make some changes, but I can't say that I have much confidence in this company to right to the ship. Especially with all of the drama regarding DP's contract girls.
Never mind changing the director, actors and actresses, it's the content that needs to change. Unless they start appealing to a wider audience other than couples only it's still going to be the same old DP no matter who's directing or starring. A lot of people have repeatedly expressed their views on what they would like to see more of (IR, Gonzo, Anal, G/G), i'm guilty of that myself, but unless that happens (and judging by the new trailer it doesn't look like it has) why bother worrying about it.
So out of curiosity, since you have obviously written off anything and everything that Digital Playground does, why keep haunting this thread. There are plenty of other studios that don't produce couples titles. Yet you keep coming on this thread and putting down whatever Digital Playground is doing.

anyone notice the new twitter/tumblr backgrounds with what i assume are recent pics of stoya, jesse, bibi and selena? Looks like it's official that Kayden has left DP (we already knew Riley had left). Mike south is still off though since he keeps insisting that Stoya has left DP, and yet she is in many new releases and is included in the pics with the other contract girls.

I noticed the backgrounds, too. That makes it seem as if DP's contract girls are currently down to Selena, Jessa, BiBi, and Stoya. I wonder if "Digital Playground" is going to end up being the imprint for any features produced by Manwin, that might explain the starring role for Madison Ivy in the trailer? Anyway, it seems like 4 contract girls aren't enough to keep putting out weekly features. If DP start shooting other Manwin girls, will we eventually see Jesse Jane on the Bang Bus? Will Keiran Lee try directing films? Or will they just hire another girl for DP?
Oh, I agree. I pay little attention to the men in porn, but scenes with Keiran are on my skip list. I mentioned him because sometimes I get the feeling that he practically runs ZZ.
I've noticed that in the latest DP release (Dear Diary) there is a lesbian scene and in the upcoming Community Sex, there's a scene between Kayden Kross & Kirsten Price. A new trend for DP?
^^ Maybe? In DP's newest release Girl Squared, we get a movie that's only girl/girl, AND has a new director behind the camera (Kayden Kross replacing Robby D). Kayden wrote the script, as well. Maybe they are getting more g/g friendly? I know I'd love to see some of their contract girls together. It may also have to do with Kayden trying to get pregnant - she may have wanted to keep filming, but Manuel doesn't work with DP anymore, and she probably wouldn't have been into unprotected sex with guys she didn't want to be her daughter's dad. I'll go out and buy the film. I'm not a regular fan of g/g-only films, but I'll certainly have my dollars let DP/Manwin know that I'd like to see their contract girls get gay every now and then.
unfortuately it's confirmed that keiran lee is now directing movies for digital playground. it was bad enough when he started performing for them, now this...imo this is the last thing DP needed, another sub-par director. ^the ironic part is that reading some of the posts here, people complain about Robby, but as soon as DP gets other people directing....that gets complained about as well. I can only speak for myself, but I stopped buying DP's movies around this time last year because of how poorly shot and edited the sex scenes became. I haven't seen anything since then that I've even been tempted to buy, mostly because of sub-par talent. Girl-Squared looks awesome, but I'm waiting on feedback before I buy it. I'm almost to the point where I would say that any change would be welcome, but if DP is just transitioning to a Brazzers feature outlet, count me out. There's still too much good porn being produced to waste time and money on a mediocre product. As always, I'll check out the trailers, but I'm not holding my breath.
I understand that it's frustrating, but I can't help the way I feel. My dislike of keiran lee isn't related to didgital, I've just NEVER liked him as a performer/director or even as a person if I'm going off what I've heard about him from some female performers. So to see him now becoming to involved with DP, a company I've been supporting for years, is a little disappointing. I know there's nothing to be done about it, I was just sharing my thoughts on the situation.
I understand that you can judge Keiran as a director, because you have seen his work at Brazzers. I myself have so far not really followed Brazzers that deeply that I could recognize whether a scene is by Lee or by some of their other directors (Just Dave, or Brazzer Yancee, or whoever they are), so I can neither agree nor disagree to your opinion about his skills as director. But "Jakodema"? Where are the other probes of his talent and work that you have seen, which scenes and for which companies has he shot so far? Has he worked for Brazzers too? Or another Manwin company where you've seen his work?
^ there's been a few trailers he's posted of his upcoming movies for DP. Maybe the trailers aren't an accurate display of what his movies will look like, but that's what I've based my opinion on.

^From what I understand (and don't quote me on this because they don't really announce who directs a scene) he mostly directs the crap he's the "performer" in. Since I haven't watched one of his scenes in about 3 years I have no idea what kind of director he is. If it's anything like his "performances" in front of the camera, then it has to be horrendous.
I'm interested in what the Keiran/jakodema films look like; we can't tell from the trailers because they'll be put together by someone on the production staff, not the director. My guess is that they will be like the multi-part episodes that ZZ sometimes puts out, except just all at once. I think a lot of people will agree that Robby D's films were feeling pretty uninspired, but the large adult productions are vastly different than just shooting a scene: I think that the days of Pirates/Top Guns/etc. are officially over for DP. I'm also curious as to what the hell's up with their contract staff: Riley, Stoya, BiBi, and Kayden are all gone. At most they're carrying Jesse and Selena, though I haven't seen either of them mention on twitter that they've shot since before the shutdown. And these new Keiran/jakodema films don't have any of the contract girls. I think the 'old' version of Digital Playground officially gave up the ghost in June. And also: why release a vampire-themed production at the beginning of November? It doesn't make any sense.
honestly it seems like keiran is in every single one of the new DP movies and the ones being filmed and I'm not willing to pay for more of him. He already is in half the brazzers scenes I pay for, that's quite enough for me. Plus the girls being used are the same ones brazzers shoots all the time so it seems like they might as well just merge DP and brazzers.

by looking at his first production the only problem is he has the same horrible style of Robby D. Bad Camera work and too far from the action.
I hadn't previously watched anything directed by Lee so I decided to watch his latest effort for Brazzers. Jeez, Talk about hogging all the screen time. There are three woman in the scene and he ain't interested in any of them unless he is in the shot. Shan't be watching anymore.
Basically you only need a couple of DP movies then youve seen them all. They have lost what they used to have with gold like the original "nurses" or"babysitters" or "cheerleaders". They have hot stars and I love watching them fuck but basically DP is releasing the same movie over and over again.
