It turns out that some clever people figured out that you could launch popups from Flash, getting around the Firefox default settings.

Fortunately, you can get around it:

1. Type about:config into the Firefox location bar.
2. Right-click on the page and select New and then Integer.
3. Name it privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins
4. Set the value to 2.

The possible values are:

* 0: Allow all popups from plugins.
* 1: Allow popups, but limit them to dom.popup_maximum.
* 2: Block popups from plugins.
* 3: Block popups from plugins, even on whitelisted sites.

Firefox 1.5 has Improved popup blocking
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/releases/1.5.html
So you don't need to do that.

I did check it and default 1.5 profile has
"privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins" key at about:config
and Value is "2".
So you don't need to do anything.

ps: i know, your post was posted day or 2 days before Firefox 1.5 was released.

I know of six users who recently upgraded, and all have experienced bukoo crashes so I'm inclined to believe Jamesn's past comments that the geeks who code FF haven't gotten their shi'it figured out

Funkola:
Maybe they need to create a new Firefox profile.
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile
Or update Firefox extensions, if they use any.
And all Browser Plugins, like Adobe Reader, QuickTime.
new Adobe Reader version works better with Firefox,
that is what they said, i did not have any problems with old one.

And/or scan their pc with spyware killers, like Ad-Aware and Spybot - Search & Destroy.
And with antivirus programs.
And/or update their pc with Windows Update.

I don't know, i have NO problems, with all 5 PC:s.

sorry my bad english.
