I wrote a rant about August for www.hardcoregossip.com. I essentially said that all new girls who are timid about doing anal should study her. August told Vince Vouyer in "Raincoater's POV" that she was saving her ass for a rainy day, or until she felt she'd waited long enough and could get top dollar for it. However, she has been around pretty long now. I'm sure she has strung along some fans who clinged to those comments in anticipation of her finally getting her payday. More and more though it seems like she will flat out never do anal. I like what they do and some of the girls are beyond anything on this side of the world. I hear the really cute young looking ones they call Idols are like pop stars there and make 20,000 dollars per movie. They're exceptional photographers but the videography is not very good. I do like how they devote a whole movie to one girl. I don't get the whimpering of the girls during sex, whether that is something the directors direct the girls to do or if it's natural for Asian women to moan and cry that way during sex.

So, seriously, what's with the rabid anal obsession among so many fans these days? To me, TSC takes a very cool attitude towards it when he says he'd LIKE to see August do anal but he's okay with "settling" for the great scenes she's done so far.

I think we all agree that Nautica is one of the very hottest actresses out there -- the girl loves and is fascinated by sex, and it shows in every scene. But fact is, as was noted by JM, she simply doesn't like big stuff up her ass. I know I'm perhaps being terribly naive here but wouldn't you rather see her honestly enjoying herself rather than putting up with something she doesn't want to do?

I understand the attraction to anal, but not the slavish devotion to needing to see every actress do it (or maybe I do ... but I'd really rather hear your reasons for it, to truly understand what's up instead of making ASSumptions). I understand that we all want to see our fantasies fulfilled, but am I wrong in assuming that you guys are aware of reality enough to know that taking it up the ass in the manner that girls have to do in porn three to five days a week is debilitating and unhealthy at best, and downright dangerous at worst?

Some gals take to it, some don't. Some of the hottest, cutest, youngest girls who come into the business these days end up deciding to move on early either because they can't get enough gigs to support themselves because of the vast majority of gonzo producers who have picked up on this attitude, or because they tried it, had a few terrible experiences with it -- not ALWAYS but often the producers who try hardest to get a girl to go anal are the most likely not to care if they tear up her ass -- and decided the industry sucks.

Maybe you're figuring that girls have more choices than they really do about what kind of scenes they get offered day to day, but consider that gonzo producers are SO competitive these days that it's close to impossible for a girl who's decided to do some anal to book it on a reasonable, non-damaging basis. Once she's crossed that line, a majority of the producers out there won't settle for anything else, and suddenly she's faced with basically two options: Drop out of the "mainstream" of porn, or look forward to hemmorhoids, serious ass damage (I know that sounds like a great series title, but the reality is ugly -- I must know five girls over the last year who not only had to see doctors after too much anal but actually had to have surgery), and putting Depends on the grocery list.

If anybody cares to enlighten me, I'm not being smart-ass here, I'm truly interested in figuring this one out. BTW, Nautica is Japanese and Puerto Rican, raised in Hawaii.

My fondest wish to take a couple of my best guys and shoot a few shows in Tokyo. The stumbling points are, as you note, the pay scales are wildly different than those stateside, not just because of the exchange rate but because of the nature of the two different industries. I'm not sure whether the really super-cute, hot AV idols that you and I would MOST like to see are open to working with Americans -- I do know that almost anybody that I or the audience would think was worth shooting would probably insist on condoms.

Which makes me throw another question out to you guys -- if you could buy/rent a show that shot in a superior U.S. gonzo style, utilized our top power-fuckers both white and black for the male talent, but had to be shot using condoms for the intercourse, would you still be interested? Again as with my anal question, I'm not trying to make some P.C. point here, I'm actually doing, in this case, some market research.

Finally, as to all that high-pitched whining, etc. -- it's a cultural thing, not inspired by porn. Not only have I read about it, but the handful of Japanese women I've known who were actually brought up there have told me so. Considering that masculinity seems to be even bigger issue for the Japanese male than the American male, it makes sense to me ....

As to licensing their product, I hear it tends to be quite difficult -- I know someone who had licensed a bunch of Nikkatsu S/M and softcore features from the '70s and '80s to sell through his site and mag here in the U.S. -- ASIAN CULT CINEMA, if you're curious -- and despite the large interest here in the material, he finally became too frustrated, both because of the high price demanded by the studio, as well as their very controlling attitude -- he was strictly forbidden to manufacture here, and had to wait for pieces to arrive from Japan.

In general, it appears that the Japanese also rival Americans in terms of their contempt for foreigners -- I think that Americans probably get off easiest, as we seem to enjoy something of a love/hate relationship from them .... which considering historical events, is kinda understandable ....
