I've been thinking about getting an account on VideoBox, but in the back of my mind i've got a nagging memory of hearing that VideoBox is supposedly offering poor quality on HD videos.
Is, or has, anyone been a member on that site and know about this? Or do they offer normal full HD quality just as good as the original material?

If I recall their HD is only 720p. Most the classic titles are not HD, Much of the new release stuff is buried under extra subscription fees. It's a good source for a lot of stuff from the golden era of Gonzo like Red light District and so on, but the video quality is a mixed bag. Opinions may vary but to me Videobox is only worth it for the classic content. The stuff that gets added these days is mostly junk.

Thanks for your input. Could someone confirm that VideoBox only offers 720p and not 1080p?
EDIT: I noticed that you can press download and get a list of download options even though you're not a member, and checked out a few of the HD movies i recognized to be pretty new, and it appears that 720p is the only HD they offer. That's a real shame.

VideosZ is a better source for HD videos, at least they offer 1080p.

The vast majority of the content on VB is not in HD because it was produced long before HD existed. Something to consider as well is that the bulk of what is in HD is not exclusive to VB so you have to be very careful that you don't already have that on your drive(s). In fact I'd say that you are probably better off joining the site from which the HD content comes from because this way you might be able to download it in a higher resolution that is available on VB. For me VB is a site you join when you are interested in videos that precede HD but are often far superior in quality to what gets produced these days. Pay attention to VB's other channel membership system. The 12$ it cost to join does not give you access to VB's entire library.
