If Kink went under, I'd imagine that its assets would be sold off to pay its creditors, which would probably include IP rights of the content being able to publish that content may depend on the custodian of records.

I've often thought back to some of the older web series from 10, or 15 years ago. All of the content made for these individual sites that were owned by big networks like Wildpass, or Meatmembers. Some of this stuff I can't even find anymore. There was a site called Gagging Whores back in the day. Who knows where that content could actually still be found... other than through piracy. The site is gone, the network seems to be gone. It seems like download distribution will spell doom for the preservation of porn, ultimately. Lots of content may end up lost if not pirated, because generally speaking the industry and consumers don't really seem to care much about old porn. I guess it's not as culturally significant as say, old music, or old film. I don't think people go back and watch old porn so much. Makes you think. What will become of all the content on Kink once they go under or loose relevance in the market? I don't think very much, if any of their stuff is on any physical media. I got a hold of the webmaster, and the issue is that he has not been able to reach the owner for a long time. Hope everything is alright. The hosting is done by a separate company, and presumably they shut down the server for the same reason. I'm trying to buy the content, but right now no one can reach the owner.
