I was wondering if the US government knows what we buy online, mainly porn. I think it is tracked by the credit cards we use.

I watched enemy of the state and the head guy wanted to know what type of porn "he" watches. Is it possible? Is it possible for us as consumers find out what they can know, throught the free information act?

Assume it is. Probably one reason why some people only buy their porn for cash in a shop. Even then there might be cameras recording who's in there.
Assume it isn't. I would imagine that the information you'd need to see to track purchases and actual products bought is mostly held by commercial businesses. They're not going to be letting you and I see that information, but they might be forced to show it to government agencies.

Its very easy for the US Government (aka Big Brother) to snoop on you via the Net. All they have to do is secretly install the Carnivore software on your ISP and start keeping track of all your online activities. And if that isn't enough, they can always use Echelon to do the same thing...

I'm sure it's possible but I don't care, I mean it's not like I'm buying illegal movies or anything like that.

Don't worry, they'll only use the information when you run for President / Prime Minister / Pope. *

Or maybe when they want to silence you on speaking out against their agenda(s). This is one of the reasons I find the Patriot Act so alarming. Exactly what is their agenda?
