good! I love the graphics and the sound. It's best played at night when you're more likly to become scared at things poping out from places. the game has made be take a shit in my pants only about 8 times

everyone should get this game. lots of violence, too when you use your shotgun against someone they explode and ther blood slashes against the wall at different angles depending on where you shot them.

scary.great.game!

I've been waiting for this game since it was first announced and still can't get over how insanely good it is. The detail to the enviroment is stunning.

Not to mention the game is just straight up freaky.

Do you have to have a super duper mega-computer to play it?

I have a 2.0 GH P4, with 1GB of RAM and a Matrox Perhelia 128MB card.

I have a similiar setup to you. P4 2ghz with a gig of RAM and a Geforce4 Ti 128 meg card. I did some minor config tweaking and the game plays great in 80 hex 600. I just can't use anti-aliasing. The only major slow down I had was in the reactor core located in the first level of the Delta Labs. The reactor is massive and when the monstors started coming I was getting under 20 fps.

Thanks Kevin.

Well, I have to say, I haven't played any computer games for a while, and I have great memories of the original Doom and Doom2. I'm mighty tempted.

Waah, I wish I had as much RAM...

Please tell me that it is a 1st-person shooter. I never bought anything after Quake II (that was what, 8 years ago?), and was dissappointed to see that Q3 was a multiplayer game (which I can't stand)

I, too, have good memories of Doom as it used to have been...

Yup its 1st person EM!!! its a good game

EM, I too hated Quake3 because the focus was multiplayer shit. Thank GOD DOOM3 is 95% 1st player. I think the small option of online multiplayer makes it even cooler, as its fun to frag someone sometimes than just play thru levels.

Well, then, we'll make a deal. I shall buy Doom 3, you shall buy Bosom Buddies 4.

What say you???

Man Doom is really cool. There is a big difference between the beta that I played and the release! 4gigs, my GOD man. However PCI Express.. has it even came out yet?? I haven't seen it.. But anyway this game is definately a great game and well worth the wait, Halo 2 and half life 2 hopefully are as great!

ePCI is out on a few dell machines but only the x300 is availible for video cards so keep waiting. Doom3 is 55bucks seems like a lot for a single player game. I'll probably get it but I will have to upgrade my system.

I wouldn't worry about pci-express being a must-have soon, if ever--seeing as 8x agp wasn't really needed from 4x, which provided plenty of bandwith..

it may sell intel some motherboards though, "DDR2!"! "PCI-X"! "hyperpentrino"! and words like that seem to work-they certainly have a lot of 32-bit prescotts that were worse than their predecessors to get rid of now that they're rolling out 64-bit chips in a few weeks.

DoomIII is SO... bloody scary!!
Ive been playing at in the dark with headphones on and is amazing. The voices calling you and those crab things that jump at you are scary as hell.

Have you guys gotten very far into it? I thought it was the bees knees initially too, but after having the same damn imp jump out of a broom closet at me for the 500th time, it really started to get on my nerves. This game has gotten so damn monotonous to me... I've pretty much given up about 3/4 of the way through. It's just not fun anymore.

I'm with you.

As great as the game looks, the gameplay has not evolved much beyond Doom II. Where is the stealth/action hybrid of No One Lives Forever?

I also agree with that. I am currently in the Delta Labs and my thoughts are, "Is that it?"

I understand they wanted it dark to add to the atmosphere, but half the time I am leaning towards my screen to try and see something.
