Hi all,just wondering if this sounds correct to you guys,i've noticed a pattern emerging on my recent SD purchases and that's that if a title has"shot in HD" on the cover they are presumabley down converted back for SD release,The reason i ask is these titles seem to have inferior picture quality compared to the directors or studio's previous(non HD shot) titles,i've noticed it recently on Jules's titles and Devil's Film releases and some Vouyeur Media releases just off the top of my head...is this due to the conversion process and are we therefore getting a poorer quality product currently?i saw, i think it was Mike Quasar make some comment recently about down conversion....interested to hear any thoughts....Thanks.

I don't know much about it but I've noticed the same thing on some stuff that says it's shot in HD. My guess is that maybe they just haven't mastered using the HD equipment yet. And/or the current state of the art for HD equipment that's available at the price point pornographers are willing to pay just hasn't moved up that much yet. Some of the first digital camcorders had lousy picture quality in spite of being digital. Some people didn't know how to use even some of the better ones and the resulting picture quality was pretty rough.

Yeah maybe it's that,seems pretty pointless though shooting on HD to be honest if there's no benefit or prospect of any of these titles being released on a HD or Blu-Ray format and i can't see the Devil's Film(for example) back catalogue being re-released on HDdvd.Quite honestly it's now stopping me buying titles that say"shot on HD" on the front because the picture quality on these titles is inferior and yet they say it like it's a good thing.

Well on the contrary I've found that releases originally shot on HD and downconverted to SD look much sharper and clearer than pure SD releases.
Some BJ flick examples:
A Face Full of Diesel #1 and #2
Blow Me Sandwich #10 and #11
Head Case #2
