My DVD player is not reading my porn discs -- for the most part.
Every once in a while they play, but it's frustrating waiting for that moment when they do. Is this more likely a defectiveness in the disc or the player?
For what it's worth, I never have this problem with mainstream DVDs.
Insights appreciated.

Yes, they're right out of the package for first viewing.
I have discovered since that if I turn off the DVD for a time, it comes back with a better, more responsive attitude.

I remember reading a memo on the DVD-Forum site where they were threatening to pull licensing from some companies for producing out of spec discs (improper reflectivity, thickness of platter, etc.). Unless you see the DVD-Video logo on the disc itself, there is no guarantee that anybody is looking to make sure it follows specs.

I had that problem with DVD discs from Channel 69. I investigated and learned about DVD jitter.
