I can't seem to find vols. 33-38 of the Dr. Fellatio series. Were these deleted?

Deleted as in they can no longer be purchased. I can't find those volumes anywhere.

Doing a quick check on three of the titles in that range, it would appear that perhaps Elegant Angel has pulled those off the market right now. They don't show up in the ADVDT price search and checking them on the IAFD only showed one store carrying any of the titles I checked on...

We've never had them in our database. I suspect they have not been released on DVD.

This may explain other gaps in the greater porn catalog.

For example, I recently was looking for volumes 1-10 of The Oral Adventures of Craven Moorehead series and could not find them anywhere. Obviously, they existed at one time (I own three VHS movies from the group), but they no longer turn-up.

Is it possible that the first 10 volumes were only released on VHS?
If so, I wonder if Celestial has made a deliberate decision not to re-release these volumes on DVD? Maybe it's just a low priority?

I, for one, would consider it a great loss if the "Pre-DVD" era of the greater porn catalog is lost because it is a financial crap-shoot to re-release the titles in DVD format.

I've got to believe that studios could re-release older material by putting two VHS titles on a single DVD. Sinister (Sin City) did that with volumes 1 and 2 of their California Cocksuckers series, but never continued it. Too bad. Some of the California Cocksuckers movies had some incredibly good BJ material.

I'm realizing that a LOT of the VHS porn I bought in bricks & mortar stroke shops (at ridiculously high prices by today's DVD Internet prices) turns out to have been professionally bootlegged product of inferior quality.
Central Florida, where I live, turns out to be one of the worst areas in the country for bootlegged porn

In any event, I've been going back and rebuilding my collection with DVDs (yes, actually buying DVDs of stuff I already own on VHS) to enjoy my favorite stuff in marginally better quality

Coming back to Elegant Angel's The Blowjob Adventures of Dr. Fellatio series, I went and purchased Volume #7 on DVD (because of the revered Jacklyn Lick scene often cited here on ADT), and was thoroughly disappointed with the video and sound quality! Worse than VHS... and that's not acceptable!

Porn studios need to realize that their libraries are a gold mine! Mainstream studios pay the bills by keeping their libraries in circulation. Take some time and do it right.

It's common for production companies sell the rigts to their older products to compilation houses like Leisure Time, Sunshine, New Machine, etc.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the original masters are lost at some studios. Many aren't the model of professionalism. I wouldn't put it past an ex-employee to steal them either.

Zane Entertainment is a good example. Back in the early 90's they were making some great anal-oriented porn featuring many of the popular stars of the time but then the company collapsed, leaving their back catalog in limbo. I still have alot of their videos in my collection but sadly I don't think they will ever get released on DVD.

I have an Elegant Angel product list and the volumes 33 to 38 are indeed not listed as being available on DVD, only VHS.
