I just tried to edit a post but it doesn't appear to have worked, despite getting a message that it was successful. I tried again, same non-result.

Nope - I just tried to remove the 's' from the end of a word in this thread, no joy.
Still works here; I'm stumped.

For some reason when the topic was moved to a new forum the replies in the topic weren't properly moved/updated. The replies were still associated with the old forum category so the edit process wasn't finding a post to modify.
There were 2,182 posts in this state of limbo since the beginning of the forum. I've updated them all and created a scheduled task to deal with this situation if it happens again in the future.

Upon further review, I didn't have the move-topic function wrapped as a transaction. So it was possible for a portion of the steps to execute leaving others incomplete.
