Click to expand What I was trying to say is that while I deplore the misery of drugs, and I think that the adult business could do well without the influence of drugs, I'm also concerned about the increasing touch of the government into the adult industry. If the business was to agree as a whole, set up it's own standards and it isn't set down by state law, but by industry concern, then I think it's great. I am definately NOT in favor of hiring more grave diggers. I am in favor of people living without a crack pipe. But it needs to be industry regulated, not government regulated. I always have a laugh at this notion that an 18 year old is inherrently unaware of their situation and what they're doing. You could say that about anyone. If age was any indication of wisdom, probably a third of the kids that are born wouldn't be. Ignorance crosses all boundaries. Just because an 18 year old is ignorant and makes bad choices, it doesn't necessarily mean they're ignorant because they're 18. There are many causes for ignorance and an 18 year old in America today doesn't have to be ignorant. I do think that someone in the industry who knows a girl is new should talk to her but a psychological evaluation? Half of the people over 30 in America would probably flunk a thorough psychological evaluation. Shelly Lubben isn't the result of drugs or the industry not giving her a psych exam. She's a result of her own ignorance. 18 should be plenty old enough to know what you're getting into when you choose to fuck for cash. Nobody gives a woman a psychological evaluation before she gets married. Hell, you can buy a 44 Magnum without a psychological evaluation. We've got some fucked up priorities. I think if adults are trusted with tons of steel at highway speeds, they are qualified to spread their legs. Well, maybe not. But anyway. We don't require 18 year olds to be stupid. And there's no natural law that says they have to be. They may be inexperienced but you don't get experience without taking chances. [Link]

And they'll never start taking responsibility for their own actions. Somebody else will always pay because we allowed them to pass the blame onto everything else. All it takes is a way out. Give them anything and they'll take it because they can. Drugs don't make choices. Porn doesn't make choices. People do. You can say people get addicted to drugs and therefore can no longer choose but they made a choice in the first place when they had an opportunity to make another one. The industry already mandates testing just add drug testing and some drug counseling to it. The test are public. Let the industry decide if they want to hire them.
