I would just put the RA number on the outside of the box (like they asked) along with a handwritten note that explains that you don't have a printer, so you couldn't print the e-mail and include the pertinent information that was in the e-mail.

As noted in a previous thread, the system they have for tracking what's in stock is pretty good and a welcome addition. That's good. However, this last time a problem arose and I'm not happy. That's bad. You shipped me "Just Anal 8" instead of "Young & Anal 8." Please correct this ASAP. --------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That's our exchange to date. Now, we're not dealing with a defective title, nor with me changing my mind regarding whether I want it or not. He shipped me the wrong item. It appears that he's ignored my issue with not being able to print his RMA email and won't go along with my request that he send me an SASE instead, claiming he can't accomodate me because of his systems. Seems to me his systems should be there to help me, not the other way around. What do ya'll think? Hardware "Murder is the sincerest form of criticism!" the Pagfeek Papers [Link] |

Hardware P.S. - The bold in his note about including the email in the return was not hyperbole on my part, that's how it was written in the email. Probably should have made that clear. If you bring your disc back to the store, we'll replace it with the correct one and we'll reimburse you for your mileage. Please bring your receipt with you." I just don't see what they did that deserves "being torn a new one". |
| Hardware All-Star Member Your other left 14595 Posts 3/02 | I don't agree with your analogy. If it were accurate, then XRentDVD wouldn't have sent me an SASE after they shipped me the wrong DVD, which is what they did. Why I would have "torn them a new one" is because they didn't offer me a solution to my problem of not being able to print a copy of their email, they merely rejected the solution that I proposed. Since they have now agreed to accept a hand-written note, it may be they simply overlooked that part of my letter; however, they didn't indicate that in their latest email so I guess I'll never know. Sending you a box via UPS (they don't use USPS) would have been a big deal. If sending you a return envelope when a disk is mis-shipped is a priority to you, then I suggest that you purchase all of your adult DVD's from XRentDVD and all of you mainstream DVD's from Netflix, because these are the only e-tailers who would even consider doing what you want. |

A PO Box costs $19.95 for 6 months-a bargain for the peace of mind--menace Edited by - menace on Jul 14 2002 |
| Bill All-Star Member 5334 Posts 6/00 | Apparently DVD Advantage had a huge problem with lost USPS shipments a while back, which they had to replace out of their own pocket. UPS offers them better tracking capabilities as well as automatic insurance on their packages. While I wish that they still shipped Priority Mail to regular addresses, I can understand why they don't. |
