RLD Fiend Member Cincinnati, O. 665 Posts 10/04	Posted - Mar 29 2005 : 3:52AM So, I am seriously irate tonight, as now two of my DVD's have f'd-up center holes due to the stress from typical DVD cases. Mainly the kind with a center button and then four tiny prongs to grip the DVD from four sides. Why do these things have to be designed so they put so much pressure on the center hole? Now 2 of my DVD's are pretty much unwatchable due to serious cracks in the plastic around the hole. I will never store my discs in those pieces of crap again. Click to expand Do you understand that you're supposed to press on that center button to release the prongs' tension before trying to yank the disk out? I'm not trying to be a wiseass; I actually didn't figure that out myself for an embarrassingly long time. [Link]

The real problem is not in taking the disc out, it's putting it back in. Since it's nearly impossible to press down on the button in the case at the same time you're placing the dvd on the spindle, it's necessary to use considerable pressure to get the disc to 'pop' all the way back on the center hub. It's that pressure that leads to cracks in the disc. Went first thing today to buy new binders, so the cases are totally history! Click on beautiful Taylor Rain for great porn reviews! [Link]

Then I just put the dvd cases on a bookshelf. it is easier for me to use the folders than the cases, as that the folders take up less room than 100+ dvd cases. [Link]

Click to expand That's always annoyed me too. That over 20 years old Jewel case design is great. But of course the punters might think they were getting short changed if the box wasn't almost a large as a VHS. Have you tried the slim lime CD cases? But they're a little bit more expensive, so... The only genre which mainly uses Amaray cases is Anime. But then, their fanbase is just about the bitchiest you'll find, and corner cutting is immediately pounced upon. [Link]
