WICKED PICTURES: this is for you.

I hate those intros to EVERYSINGLE menu that I go to on some of the newer Wicked Pictures DVDs. Like on In Style and the Kissing Game. Every menu I go to I got to wait for the damn intro to finish. This got me really annoyed on In Style. I guess it's not that long, but sometimes I like to wham bam through the menus to get where I'm going to.

My advice (if you care, Wicked): Put the snazzy intro for like the main menu ONLY. That would be cool. But let the viewer go through all other menus as quickly as possible.

The menus for Flashpoint and Dream Quest were cool. I liked those a lot. I don't recall having to watch an intro page for EVERYSINGLE menu page I went to.

Yea it got a little out of hand on a couple titles. I will be trying random wipes. That means that you can see up to 8 different transitions randomly. We have cut back on them though.

I love when manufacturers take constructive criticism in the manner in which it was intended.

I agree with Trunks' opinion of the lengthy animated menus.

One more thing that I noticed with some (but not all) Wicked titles is that the "Menu" button does not bring you to the main menu, but rather to one of the sub menus below the main menu.

For example, on "Jenna's Revenge", "Wicked One" and "Jenna's Built For Speed" the menu button brings you to the Preview screen, and on "Working Girl" the menu button brings you to the Scene Selection screen.

David, it's not really that I'm seeing the same intro so much as the delay the intro causes. I'd rather have no intro for sub-menus if having an intro means I have to wait for it to appear. Even if each intro was different, it would still delay the appearance of the menu and that's what's vexing me.

I really like the idea of the changing intros. How hard is it to make it where the user can hit the enter or play button or something and skip directly to the menu if they so wish?

Animated menus wouldn't be a problem if the navigation controls were loaded prior to the animation starting. That way a person could still select items on the sub menu without waiting on the animation to end. I have no idea if this is how it's currently being done or if it's even possible from a technical perspective. (I assume the tecnology exists to do it. They have similar functionality in virtual sex titles. It just might not be worth the additional overhead and complexity for a menu system.)
