I have a DVD-ROM listed as JLMS XJ-HD166S.

I bought two movies, Tiffany Mynx: Rest in Peace and Strokin' to the oldies: Tiffany Mynx from www.adultcdmovies.com

The first one doesn't play on my DVD-Rom but its playable in my standalone dvd player. The disc is not original but a copy of it shipped by the company.

The 2nd movie played only once on my DVD-Rom but it doesnt play anymore because the disc was scratched I think. However it does play on my standalone dvd player.

Please help me.

Basically there a number of slight differences in the way discs are encoded, replicated, etc. and any given player will behave in a different manner. Most players will play most discs, but there are some idiosyncracies that you'll have to deal with.

I have a handful on discs that play bad poorly on my iBook but play back okay on my standalone DVD players. Amusingly, the most reliable DVD player in my household is the oldest: a standalone Sony from circa 1997.

As for your Rest In Peace title, you might ask the company you purchased it from for an exchange, but since it's not an original, all bets are off concerning playback compatibility.

If you scratched the Strokin' to the Oldies disc, well, that's your fault and you will have to pony up the cash to buy a new one. There are scratch removal kits/services/techniques, but nobody can guarantee that any of these will restore the disc's functionality. You could also damage the disc so it doesn't play anywhere.

As I wrote in the other thread that you posted this information on, Extreme Associates has released their older titles on DVD-R's that have a plain white label with black writing on them. If those two issues are why you think you received a copy instead of an original, then you are incorrect.
