I'm trying to figure this out.

RLD/PXP titles play fine on my iBook, but not even the menu page will pop up when I put them in my high-end player that is wired to the TV.

Evil Angel discs, no problems.

I wondering if there's some kind of DVD format that is being used that is incompatible with slightly older DVD players? Or if RLD/PXP just has cheaper products? It's not limited to their titles, but I happen to watch more of their titles so that's why I've noticed it.

Evil is DVD-9 and they work fine. I just think it's whatever format some companies use doesn't jibe. No biggie.

Stuff like this drives me nuts sometimes. I wish all DVDs would work on all DVD players. I guess it's not that simple.

The thing is, the player will play badly scuffed DVDs from 1999, but it won't play brand new DVDs from some porn companies and sometimes Hollywood product. (Though ... a lot of what the video store passes off is bootleg).

I think it must have something to do with DVD-R versions or with particular types of DVD format processes ... but I don't know enough tech jizz to fathom it. Everything plays fine on the Macs, ... except an old copy of Flesh Hunter 2 that won't play on anything!

Whatever.

Does the code number on the inner ring of the disc start with "DDVD"? If so, contact Tricia.

Haha skronker, I had the exact same problem. Tricia replaced my Flesh Hunter 2 for me.
