It was then I remembered reading about something to do with this a few months ago yet what it said has gone from memory.
Iv'e contacted dvdnow and they can't help and I can't get digital sin to relpy, is there any one out there who has any idea as to how to get it to work if it will.

I suppose your player needs a firmware upgrade.
Check the official page of your player for further info.

All my other digital sin/new sensations dvd's work fine its just this one.
I've e-mailed both of the above companys but recieved no reply, i don't suppose that there is anyone out there who's got an address of someone I can contact.
Thanks

ive had something like this happen. i think the movie was lewd conduct 8 , something like that. anyway, i have an rca dvd player. when i tried to play the movie it would not go beyond the basic loading screen , no fbi warning , no beginning credits , i could see no part of the movie. the player wouldnt recognize the disc. here's the odd part. the disc is two sided with the back contaning previews, etc. that worked fine. ive never had any problems with other discs from the company.

i think the simple answer for you is that some discs wont work with some players. the why explanation is not so simple if there is a reason at all. it may be one defective disc or it may be incompatibility.

i hate when you cant get a response from a company , especially with you being frequent customer, but keep in mind , the person who answers those emails may have no knowledge of the items youre inquiring about , no access to them and most likely just fowards the messages to someone else within the company( if youre lucky ) . you might want to try and call them , ive always had better results speaking to a live person and at least i felt a little better knowing my message was heard.

Thanks for the advice but I think that i'll hold back on trying to phone them as I live in the U.K..
I don't realy fancy getting put on hold whilst paying international rates.
Ah well unless theres anyone else with any ideas of how to get hold of them looks like i've got a nice new shiny coffie mat.
Cheers.

just as i reply to this .... a disc i receive in the mail today gives me the same problem. the long awaited oral consumption arrives today ..... only to spin around in my dvd player for a minute and give the message .. " disc is not playable " " please check disc " . so there i am thinking , oh no , another one , only this time i bought it , instead of renting. i ejected it and put it back in and let the player run for a minute and miraculously , the second times the charm , it plays!

so who knows why they wont play ? keep trying your disc and maybe youll get it to run just as i did.

I have problems with some of the VCA titles I bought. I have a Samsung 709 and for some reason SOME of the titles I bought on the VCA label don't play in it.

What happens, is that usually an hour or so into each title, the picture FREEZES and the player starts CLICKING and then finally EJECTS the disc from the player, usually giving the error message "THIS DISC CANNOT BE PLAYED. LEASE CHECK THIS DISC..." I suspect that the player has a problem reading the layer change on certain VCA discs. [I actually get a similar situation on some R1 Disney titles, but Disney titles are problematic.]

The first disc I got from them that displayed the problem was Marilyn Chamber's "Still Insatiable". Some of my Ben Dover titles also, although "TORN" played OK. Most other labels seem to work OK, apart from the odd freezing picture occasion or pixelation problems with some titles.

I have the player more than a year now and wonder is there a problem with it itself, the firmware, or what? Does anyone else have problems with a Samsung 709?

bungle,
dont use it as a coffee mat !
find someone who can make a vhs copy for you.
since the problem was just with your one player ( you tested it with a second player and it worked) someone else can use it.
