I stopped watching MDD years ago but I've saved many volumes with some really classic scenes. Also classic scenes from New Ends, Deep Inside DD, DDD, Cockless and other Powers spin-offs.

My understanding of his thought process is that he is somewhat mystified by his success. He does not know exactly which thing is responsible for his success and as such is afraid to change anything for fear of messing the whole thing up. This extends to things like lighting and most especially to camera angles.

All of this is analogous to a baseball player who does not know where his hits come from and so is afraid to change his (black) socks.

It is a shame because at one time I owned almost all of his movies. I lacked fewer than ten of More Dirty Debutants 1-60. I also had a lot of his other tapes like Dirty Dirty Debutants 1-10 or so and Cockless.

As annoying as his patter can be to the viewer sometimes, he does have a genuine talent for getting newcomers to relax and push their boundaries. He made some genuinely scorching scenes back when good scenes were a lot harder to find in porn than they are now.

His lesbian scenes were particularly good since a lot of time it was the first time for one, or even both, of the girls. If I ever pick up another one of his tapes again it will be for a girl/girl scene.

Unfortunately he has always paid very little attention to what he writes on the back of the box and he gives almost no genuine information there, so even when I am tempted to pick up one of his DVDs, I always err on the side of not getting it because I can't know what I am getting.

I would be willing to get another one of his Cockless tapes if those are still around, or to get a compilation of his girl/girl scenes. I would just want him to tell me on the back of the box which girls are having their first g/g and I would want him to avoid using the same girl in several scenes. He has a unfortunate tendency to use the same girl again and again as his "introduction to girl/girl" girl.

Some of his scenes where he used two girls who had both never been with another woman before rise even above scorching to legendary.

I suppose I should list the reasons I no longer watch his movies:

1) Condoms. It's fine and even laudatory that he wants to protect his health, but condom scenes are not exciting for me to watch.

2) Inconsistent camera work. He had some good angles before a lot of the rest of the world caught on, but he uses too many static cameras and non-professionals.

3) Terrible lighting.

4) Not enough girl/girl scenes anymore. If I am going to ignore several scenes because they are condom scenes I would need at least two different girl/girl scenes with four separate women to pick up a DVD now. I would also need to know that they were whole scenes in themselves and not just warm ups for a threesome or group scene. Given the overall poor production qualities he uses I would need at least one of the four women to be new to G/G, and preferably two or more of them to be novice pussy eaters. All of this information is currently impossible to gather from the meager text on the back of the box.

If there was a porn Hall of Fame I think Ed would definitely belong. It is too bad that I can't bring myself to watch his scenes anymore.

While I'm on the subject Randy's U&C stuff and the Real Sex Magazine series also is priced similarly to Ed's.

None of these guys ever have degraded the women performers that appear in their scenes. Also there is far more vaginal stuff then anal, buy a wide margin.

I think that all of these guys are laughing all the way to the bank.

I agree with the previous posts that his best work is his earlier ones but the ones in the 200 series of MDD are still pretty hot; not as good as the first 30 but still very watchable. I have not watch the 220 and on but I will keep it in mind the next time I go renting.

I kind of find it intriguing to see him gain weigh and still do his act! Kind adds another demenision to it; but I heard from another person that he has lost weigh like 20 pounds and looks pretty average now! I saw him last with a pretty good pot belly so it now sparks my interest to view his act once again! Ed is always a good view anyways!

Well, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the man. Hell, I wouldn't mind to have his job for a day or two or three...I am just curious as to why his latest offerings are so bland and repetitive when he used to have a lot more variety ten years ago. Maybe I picked a bad volume, I'm not sure. But EVERYTHING (sex acts, positions, even camera angles) happened in the same order. You could literally predict when he was going to switch camera angles during the scene.

About 2-yrs ago a local video store to me, was purchased by a large chain & they started dumping quite a considerable collection of Ed's stuff, at such rediculously low prices that I started buying them. I bought a bunch below #30 but also several in #150 range. I found a scene with Jessie J. (#206) which is scourcher, for example.

I can't remember watching any above the mid 200's, but I see performers like Carmen Luvana (#211) take their turn with Ed. If you are looking for early scenes of sucessful stars, Ed is a good place to look - reptitious as they may be, he still seems to be able to get some very hot nubie's.
