@Aline,

As customer we need more than just an order confirmation,
but shipping confirmation which contain information about
shipping date and contain of the shipment.

As you know that your website is not provide stock info
so we don't know which one is in-stock and which one is
out-of-stock.

Thank you.

ookz,
Have you had a problem. I've only placed two orders with Erodvd. The first was shipped complete nearly immediately. The second (larger) order had two items that were out of stock. Aline immediately sent me the following e-mail:

"Today we packed your order and discovered that two titels are not in stock anymore.
These two;
xxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am sorry for that.
Can we just send the order without these two titels are do you want to add two other items??

please let me know as soon as possible.

Kind regards,
Aline."

Although not automated, if sending an e-mail whenever they have a problem is their standard practice, then I have no problem with this methodology. I actually prefer this methodology because I was able to reply with instructions as well as with my own question that Aline immediately answered to my satisfaction.

Was my experience different than the standard?

@Bill Broderick,

thank you for the info,
since I don't have that email, I assume they will send
the item soon.

I have also ordered from them 2 times.

The first time I got a obligatory fast confirmation.
After 1 week I have sent them a mail "where is my ordered dvd". I got the dvd just one day later. (And for your explication: I live in germany, ...expect delivery in 3 or 4 days)

Right now, I have ordered one Provate title one week ago. The same thing: Confirmation: Fast, ....Delivery: still waiting.

Lets see....

Thats my impression

Raoul

ookz,

you might find a faster reply to questions like this by emailing it directly to the companies you are talking to.

I know a lot of companies keep an eye out on the forums, but it's always easier to get an answer to their questions by asking them directly.

cheers,

scipio

Of course writing to the company is the right way, but when we don't get a satisfactroy answer from them or our messages are ignored, we sometimes post a message here to give the company an alert and a chance to contact us before we go to the forum with a bad story about their customer service.
So thanks for all your warnings and congratulations for your forum

Of course, but a post here should be more in the vein of "I emailed X, Y times over Z days and got no response. Is anyone else having this or similar problems"

Posting a direct "email" to someone who is -unlikey- to see it here is not especially useful.

for a slighly better explaination of what I'm trying to say, please read my post in the other "scipio" thread.

thanks,

scipio
