As a big fan of Private movies from the 90s and early 2000s, I've been disappointed in their more current offerings. I've recently discovered other European studios (see above) that offer me similar movies: feature films with a bit of plot, hot girls, and good sex (including DPs). I've left Marc Dorcel off my list because the French government is requiring them to use condoms for distribution in France.
Does anyone know of US distributors who are regularly carrying these studios' films? I know that Daring has an arrangement with one US company and I've been able to get their flicks at my local video store, but I've been striking out on the others (especially ATV). If you want to see samples check out this ezine: www.hotnews.it.

I must say I'm rather disapointed by Daring, apart from Roma (got the first of the series) which is good, the other DVDs I've seen were only so/so.
Have you tried Woodman Productions DVDs? Those directed by Pierre Woodman himself are very good.

This is not correct. condoms are only a requirement for French Pay TV stations that offer porn movies, the French government has nothing to do with it, you can find condom free DVDs legally in French shops.

Private and VMD (Video Marc Dorcel) have been off my list for a while, for a variety of reasons. Private movies are all over the map with glossy or tropical settings, but the heat is gone. VMD is like watching a Wicked or Vivid movie.
Pink'o movies are released in North America, are long, feature attractive female and male talent. ATV and Showtime usually have good product but are not are not widely distributed in US. I think ATV titles are available for purchase on-line by some US distributors. Elena Grimaldi who was previously for Showtime has recently moved over to ATV.
Keep in mind tnat all these euro companies produce basically feature films with a storyline, with a general running time of about 90-120 minutes.

Thanks Joey and Len -- it's good to find other European aficionados. Sometimes I check the website www.buyeuroporn.com for other studios and new releases.
What's your thought on Pierre Woodman's offerings? I enjoyed the XCalibur series -- a plot, costumes, and hard-core sex (including some relatively decent orgy scenes). But I haven't seen anything recent from him. Any word on his future?
Also -- I'm a fan of some of Mario Salieri's older films, and would like to find them in this country!

I am not particularly fond of Mario Salieri's films. The way too dark lighting, the old and repulsive men that are featured in them and who do nothing but ruin just about the whole movie, their short running time, the manipulative and aggressive males who often force the women into sex, I never know whether it's an original or a compilation. They just leave a bad taste in my mouth. I think Plum has distributed a handful of titles in the US like ARABICA

Ever since Pierre Woodman left Privatre and went to work first for Hustler and now for his own outfit, he just does not make the same kind of movies. I stopped being interested in his recent work. I have no clue hwat he has been working on. I think his time has passed.
