Has anyone else found that EA dvd transfer's appear a notch or two lower than other major companies ?.
I've only ever purchased the Jules Jordan stuff but I do find that the transfer quality whilst still being watchable can be quite poor. High levels of grain seem to creep in and fleshtones are occasionally off colour and lack the kind of detail that you would expect from dvd.
This is gonzo film making so Im not expecting a jaw dropping transfer but when I compared Ass Worship 2 to several RLD titles, the RLD transfers wiped the floor with it.
I know Flesh Hunter 2 was well and truely shagged at one point which has me wondering if this is something to do with bad/lazy/low bitrate encoding by whoever are putting the discs together ?.
Has anyone else found these niggles in picture quality ?.

Strangely enough, I just finished watching Jules' Flesh Hunters on DVD and although it is a great movie I was very disappointed with the fleshtones throughout. In the scene with Luna, all the color in her skin drains in some shots. Other scenes the skin tones turn brown.

I checked 7 reviews of Flesh Hunter and not one reviewer expressed any dissatisfaction with the color. I know nothing about the technical end, but I remember finding some of his pre-EA titles nearly unwatchable on VHS because of this deficiency especially the washed out problem.

I have not found this problem with EA movies from other directors, although Leslie loves to deliberately shoot into windows to get his artsy washed-out effects. I have not noticed the problem in Jules recent DVD releases either.

Yeah, no reviewers seemed to pick up on it.
Either no one has noticed or they really don't care. I kinda feel that if EA are gonna charge a few $'s more for their flicks they should at least offer a dvd transfer on par with their rivals, regardless of how great the action is.
When you say the problem isnt on recent Jules releases, how recent do you mean ?.

Maybe the problem is with the source. Those small Digital Cameras DO have some problems, like grain and unstable white balance. They´re tricky. But hey, you have to be REALLY nitpicky to notice this stuff!

Try to light, in the same scene, a black person and a white person, and you´ll see how DIFFICULT it is to achieve a correct skin tone.

This is my rifle. There are many like it but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my rifle and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of my enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
