Four weeks is a long time to be waiting for an order, but it might have something to do with the size of the order if it was a lot of DVDs - It took 3 weeks for a shipment of 4 dvds to reach me sent out from Denmark (to Australia), and I've been waiting 4 weeks now for another 3 dvds... so it's entirely possible that the order is still in transit.

In the past, I've ordered a lot of things from the USA, and have had differing amounts of time they have taken to get to me. From Global Priority parcels that took 3 days from San Fransisco to my door (including a weekend) to 6 weeks for a large box of model figurines from Florida.

Was the recent order significantly larger than the previous ones? Parcel size -can- make a difference, especially since large parcels are more likely to be opened and inspected by customs than smaller ones, and customs inspection times can vary depending on your country (my first 5-star order took 5 or 6 days -including- getting opened by customs...)

I think after 8 weeks of waiting it's a better time to start with the (cough) firmer emails to a company that hasn't yet delivered the product,. Definately let them know in a more gentle way beforehand, so that they have some record of the non-delivery after 4 weeks, but waiting 8 weeks certainly shows that you as a customer have shown patience.

By all means keep us updated here to let us know when they arrive, as I am sure it's also of great interest to other European customers (especially) as well as to any other non-US customers.

As to my alias, you got it right in one, inspired mainly by Scipio Africanus, though Aemilanius was also in there. :)

The longest time i had to wait for an order to arrive was with a DHL shipment from Divadee. I ordered about 6 dvd's from them and they did ship everything within one day. The problem however were the dutch customs and/or DHL since I had to pay some taxes. Instead of delivering the shipment and let me pay the taxes in cash or let me do a bank transfer, they (customs) just kept it without notifying me (they said they did call several times but there was nothing on my answering machine). After contacting Divadee they helped me out. With FedEx if i have to pay taxes they send me a bill after delivering the package.
