The reaction to those older/younger scene wasn't all that positive, because for a majority of subscribers it seems to be all about late teens early twenties. So he's putting them up on the milf site, to see what that subscriber base has to say. I liked those scenes, or at the very least the concept. Yeah, I guess I'm the opposite and like it most when at least one of the performers is pretty not-so-new to the experience.
Out of the last 10 updates I've enjoyed 7, which to me is a great percentage. If adulttime could deliver on even 3 out of 10 I would be on cloud nine. ^^I can see what you mean about Amber, but I am wary of asking performers to step too much outside themselves. She could maybe give a little more feedback, honestly, but I personally would think several times before suggesting that performers jazz up their performances. No, you're correct, there was a yearly subscription option and the old price was $24.99 per month I believe. I don't know about anyone else, but $30 per month for a site is pushing it in my opinion.

I am good at $200 a year with weekly shoots of the now-typical Trinity/Roxanne/Amber quality.
Sure, I pay like $100 for all of Adulttime and GFF for a year, minus the initial $185 to add on Adulttime, but I waffle on whether any real value is there even though it's cheap. Crazy that brand-newbies at Excogigirls fairly consistently look more comfortable in GG videos than whoever the megacorp sites are interested in pushing that have done 15 awkward-looking GG videos.
My point exactly: what good is it to pay $10 or $20 a month if none of those videos are good? With the way Piracy and "G/G apathy" have decimated the industry, the only way forward will be for those who care to charge more, which is still preferable to paying $$$$ for 10-minute camcorder vids on a certain platform.
We don't have a first mover for true premium G/G content with high production values like Slayed but without the histrionics, a site that would charge $$$ in exchange for guaranteed excellence. Considering the amount that I have spent on custom scenes that STILL miss the mark, I would be happy to pay a large monthly fee if I knew I would be getting several scenes a month that I actually like.
Example: If someone with content similar to Kiss Me Girl Explicit were to come and charge $75/month for 8-10 4K scenes, I would sign up on Day 1 without hesitation.
So, given those circumstances, a modest increase in fees by Steve in exchange for the content we like is a bargain.
Idk, $30 a month is pretty steep for one scene a week, especially when something like AHL is still $20 and they're one a week too. Honestly the content is too inconsistent to justify a sub at that price. Don't get me wrong, the Melanie/Shrooms scene was great, but last week's was mediocre and the one before that was bad. I'll stick around to see if they can find some more consistency, but if not then yeah, I'll probably drop the sub.

^ Everything you list after "other than" are things I am growing to heavily dislike in porn. Beyond that stuff, there is a different feel in a shoot when they women are not expected to caricaturize the entire time. You know in studio porn when the women touch each other and the touch makes them do sizzle noises? Pretty much none of that in Excogigirls.com. The women get to interact as themselves, so the video is almost like watching two people experiment sexually with a new person. There is communication between the performers, and the entire affair feels better because they are just letting whatever moments happen between each other happen. None of that weird gyrating, the kissing looks like normal people kissing most of the time, despite the two young women being alone with some guy asking them questions and recording, things at least feel fairly natural. The goofy exaggerated behaviors that are directed in studio porn are not attractive or interesting to me. I don't like the performers acting like whacky cartoon characters. To quote the site owner describing the way he thinks about what he shoots; he shoots "documentary style". The appeal of porn to me is two women interacting sexually. The...er..."sensationalism" that gets layered on top of what I am actually there to see in 99% of the content out there is childish and unsexy to me.
What studios can do better is that they have access to several houses with different bedrooms, not that they shoot the porn in beds often at all, usually on kitchen counters instead. It would be nice to vary up the rooms a little bit in Excogigirls.com.
When I really think about it, the appeal Excogigirls has currently is that it feels like a blank canvas that can go one way or the other. They have the potential of really capturing some good stuff and having some of the girls develop into great performers. What needs to happen I think personally is, they need to find the beautiful women who are actually into other women and allow them to really express that desire and lust in front of the cameras naturally.
The whole idea to get new girls who haven't had sex with other women on screen for the first time is nice for an occasional scene here and there but I hope they continue to work with and find others like Roxanne and Trinity who seem like all they need is to be let loose in their scenes and fuck.
I was just watching a GF Films scene in my collection with Shyla Jennings and Vanessa Veracruz (https://www.hotmovies.com/adult-clips/534589/scene-5) and it stands the test of time not because of the storyline but the for the sex. The kissing, the touching, the pussy eating, it's all there and comes off naturally because they're both actually into it. As far as criticisms, from what I see from Excogigirls is that in the scenes, it really feels like "okay this is what we're doing now.... okay now we are doing this position.... okay lets move onto the next position..." That throws me off because it feels like the girls don't get a chance to just go off on each other naturally. For example when they're going down on each other they always have one hand (closest to the camera) tucked away awkwardly which I'm sure they are instructed to because of the camera. Things like that take away from the sex, there are ways the camera can capture the action without the performers awkwardly having to position themselves just to be absolutely sure we see everything. It's like a reminder that things are being directed that bothers me.
Otherwise, exogigirls positives are that the performers don't over act. (Still sometimes it gets to the point where it may get too bland though when the girls don't seem excitedly lustful to fuck the other. Which may be due to direction.)
It doesn't have the over produced feel. For the most part they have beautiful natural makeup and cute clothing (which I feel comes off way too quickly for my tastes) See the GF films scene I posted above which is done well. When people have sex they don't just awkwardly take off all their clothes all at once do they? Articles of clothing come off little by little which kind of adds to the anticipation.
If they want to do well, they should just look at who has done it well in the past, that previous era of GF Films was amazing, We Live Together during the Malena, Celeste, Shyla, Eva Lovia, Bree Daniels, Dani Daniels time period was just filled with Gorgeous women who actively fucked each other. They never felt like they had to be encouraged to do it, they just wanted to and it came across in the scenes like it.
If they're being paired with a newcomer or someone who has never fucked another woman then get a Malena Morgan type who is hungry for pussy who will devour the girl. That is hot. Amber Moore while good doesn't have that kind of energy to carry the scene in that way. My favorite Excogi scene so far is that scene with Amber Moore and Alice when they go into the shower and things come alive naturally. Alice who was an absolute newcomer made the scene better because it seemed like she actively wanted Amber in that moment. That's what made it really good.
I know I'm being long winded here so I apologize but those are just some of my jumbled thoughts.
Hard to talk about mainstream as a monolith when they're all pretty distinct, GFF's style is different from Slayed which is different from old WLT which is different from AHL and so on. For example, I prefer Slayed's cameras and sets to AHL, but I do think AHL generally has better directors and performances, and something like old WLT for me is the best g/g ever and its not fair to compare ECGG to them. Although I will say one thing mainstream does have over ECGG is access to top-tier g/g performers (Freya Parker, Spencer Bradley etc). ECGG's regular girls are pretty good but they aren't on that level.
ECGG's scenes also feel like a crapshoot right now, every week you're hoping (1) the newbie isn't awful and (2) if she is, the returning girl can carry the scene. This is the same problem that AbbyWinters has, and they kinda have the same concept (ECGG is much better at casting though).
Anyway, what I do like about ECGG (vs mainstream generally): great makeup, good cameras, interesting camerawork (split shots etc), scenes are long, when you get a newcomer who's decent the sex is great AND feels authentic, shower scenes are a really smart way to wind down, nice to see the performers communicating.
What I don't like about ECGG (which some mainstream site do better at): sometimes you like a newbie but she's never coming back, too many toys, kissing sucks, editing style and length makes scenes feel draggy at times.
There's also the issue about the male interviewer (and the guy with the Hitachi). I personally am okay with it, but I know there are tons of g/g viewers who absolutely hate that.

^^Yeah, the toys (mostly), the interviewer being a guy, and the person sticking their hand into the action are not ideal. I think these are easily fixable negatives, but they are negatives I hate alot less than I hate mainstream porn antics.
It's been that way for a while now. A few people pointed it out several months ago and they ended up making the change.
Otherwise, I agree with what most people are pointing out as pros and cons. The blank canvas is what makes it exciting, as is getting to see new talent do G/G (for better or worse). I hope that eventually Steve gets into a groove and can get a better feel for what makes a G/G scene good (in his own way).
WLT and KMG did feature women who didn't do a lot of G/G, so it's theoretically possible.
