| twentyone Member  44 Posts 11/06 |  Posted - Apr 29 2007 : 4:54PMi did a basic search on here using dvd rental as the search terms, and didn't find anything as conclusive as what i was looking for. so, i guess i'm trying to create a thread that can be useful for current members, and something that new members from ADT can find and see who's saying what about their adult dvd rental company. for me, i'm located in minnesota, and i started out a few years ago using excaliburfilms. great selection. and the amount of time it took to get movies was reasonable. but then, for whatever reason, it started to get slower and slower, titles that were in my queue weren't getting mailed even though they showed "in stock", and things like that, so, i cancelled. i moved onto bushdvd, where the selection didn't seem as vast as excalibur but, the movies seemed to get to me within as far as length of time it has taken me to get movies, bushdvd is the quickest, followed by sugardvd and then wantedlist. i know that logistics play into who gets what how fast but, it is almost crazy because for every 2 movies i've gotten from wantedlist, i've gotten 4 from bushdvd. the only thing i can attribute that to is the rapidreturn option that bush has. i think wantedlist has a little bit more of a selection, but not enough to warrant going with them. are there any major players in adult dvd rental that i am leaving out? i'm more than willing to try maybe another 1 or 2, and see how they compare to bush as far as speed. also, i'm curious as to other ADT members' experiences, especially those in the midwest, and the amount of time it takes for them to get movies. What I really loved was when I'd put a movie at the top of my queue, but by the time my return got there it would be checked out again. (I was cheap and had the one-disc-at-a-time plan, which I won't do again if I ever do join another rental service.) The best example was "Behind the Green Door". The whole reason I joined Sugar was because I wanted to see that movie. It was checked out when I first joined, but I signed up anyway figuring that sooner or later I'd be able to get it. The WHOLE TIME I was a member there, it was never once listed as "Available". Finally I got sick of waiting and cancelled my membership, and if I do start renting adult DVDs by mail again it won't be with Sugar. It's like they only had one copy of each disc. [Link] |
