Next up we have the return of contract star Kayden Kross, making her first appearance in NJ in four years. Kayden replied the reason she hasn't been shooting is she has been pregnant a lot longer than people realize. She added she's six months along now. I was shocked to hear that as she barely had baby bump to speak of. Granted, she deliberately wore black to the show both days to minimize her baby bump as much a possible, but still. She looked like she was barely out of her first trimester, forgot starting her third. I picked up a DVD, based on Kayden's recommendation. I asked if she would mind signing my copy of Holly Randall's photo book "Erotic Dream Girls" & some DVD covers I brought from and she was happy to do so. One of the covers included DP's "Deeper 9". I asked Kayden how this scene came about as I thought she jumped directly from Vivid to Adam & Eve. Kayden that the scene was shot during the small window of time when she had left Vivid but before she signed with Adam & Eve. She said she was in negotiations to sign with Adam & Eve, but they were dragging their feet when it came to actually signing the contract. She decided to shoot the scene for DP to light a fire under their butt and get Adam & Eve to actually give her a contract to sign. Her strategy worked because when Adam & Eve found out she shot a scene for a rival company, they sprung in to action and signed her immediately! It was very nice to see Kayden Kross after four years. Another girl making her return to NJ after four years, the lovely jessica drake. She had spent the previous week at the Sexpo show in South Africa and since NJ is on the way back to LA, her appearance at the show worked out perfectly. She replied that she wants to try to doing more feature dance appearances in the future. Before I left, I made sure to give her the pink Lakers hat seen above. jessica is a big Laker fan and when I saw the hat, I knew it was perfect for her. jessica is one of the few pornstars that does not believe in wishlists or asking for gifts from fans. A few tables over, I found fellow Wicked girl Stormy Daniels. I had seen her six months ago when she was in town feature dancing at T's Lounge. She's still on hiatus from performing but is as busy as ever directing and feature dancing. Kelly has always signed DVD covers for me at these shows before, no charge, and was happy to do so. Knowing the Witch Witch as I do, this didn't surprise me. I'm amazed I didn't have to pay a fee just to speak to Kelly. I politely declined and told Kelly we'd do the autographs at another show when she wasn't signing at The Booth That Shall Not Be Named. Even though the booth location was less than ideal, it was still great to see Kelly Divine again. Always one of my favorites to see at a show.

Asa said that while she and Toni live in LA, her family lives in NYC and Toni's family all live in Spain. Instead of having their families travel thousands of miles, they went to Vegas and eloped. The only downside to marrying a fellow adult performer is telling the "How we met" story. In Asa & Toni's case, they met on set during a DP scene!! Imagine having to tell that story over and over again to your friends & family! In conclusion, it was wonderful to see Asa Akira again. Gorgeous girl and one of the greatest pornstars of all-time, yet you'd never know it by talking to her. Just the most humble, down-to-earth girl you will ever meet in porn or out. She's so easy to talk to and so appreciative of her fans for all their support. Her table was never empty once that I could see and I saw her take more photos with fans than I could count. We are very lucky to have her in the industry and I hope she sticks around for a long time to come.

Day 1: Epilogue - Part 1 I got a late start that night due to the fact I was at the expo until nearly 10:20pm. By the time I'd grabbed a bite to eat & a shower at the hotel, it was nearly 11:30pm. It's about an hour long drive in to get to the club in the Midtown section of Manhattan, so I should have had plenty of time. Unfortunately, the Google Maps app on my phone gave me the wrong exit number for the Lincoln Tunnel, so I missed it. Instead I had to drive all the way up to the George Washington Bridge and take that across the island, where I hopped on the FDR expressway heading south along the shoreline back down to Midtown. By the time I got to the parking garage and walked the two blocks over to Sapphire's, it was 12:50am. There was a very short wait at the door before I got in and when I entered the main room, Veronica Rodriguez had just started her show. I found an open seat on the sofa bench on the far side of the stage. As you can see in the photo, it's a very small stage. I'd guess it's dimension are around eight feet wide by fifteen feet long. It was very cramped with all the people inside that night. Veronica's show was very good. I've said before that she gives off a very sexual vibe, even more so when she's naked during a feature show. In a hugely refreshing change of pace, she actually did some pole dancing in her show! She not only danced against it but actually hopped up on the pole, swung from it and did some beginner pole tricks too! Of all the pornstar feature dancers I've seen over the years, only one other girl has used the pole in her act (it was Kirsten Price for those of you wondering.) A very nice show by Veronica Rodriguez. I hope to see her again as the headliner at a club here in South Florida. Next up was the always gorgeous Charmane Star. Ive seen her a couple times before, including last year's eXXXotica After-Party at Sapphire's. Her routine has not changed much: slow, sensual dancing with some striptease mixed in. She had some very nice interaction with a few of the fans sitting by the front of the stage as well. However, this year's performance was much more,,, I don't want to say intense, but the vibe/energy she was projecting seemed to be more powerful than it was last year. Her connection with the crowd was much stronger too. It's difficult to describe in words, it's one of those "you had to be there" type of things. A sexy, erotic show by Ms. Charmane Star. Following Charmane on stage was fellow Asian beauty Kaylani Lei. She wore a multicolored outfit that included a bikini top, elbow length, fingerless gloves, super-short boy short and thigh-high striped socks. Once again, her show was the most balanced, mixing both fast, high energy dancing with slower, mellow moves as well. She has incredible stage presence. It felt like every eye in the room was on her for her whole show. Sitting next to me on the sofa bench was a thirty-something man, his girlfriend and a second woman who was clearly a butch lesbian. She had a crew-cut, no makeup, and she wore a t-shirt, blue jeans & sneakers that were obviously from the men's department. She was drinking a beer that she had set on the mini table that was sitting between them and the stage. At one point during her show, Kaylani made her way over to our side of the stage and she reached out, grabbed this woman's beer and took a sip. The woman smiled while Kaylani was there but as soon as she turn away, the woman looked at her beer bottle with a look of disgust and refused to drink from it anymore. The man & woman she was with encouraged her to take sip, but she was steadfast in her refusal. Towards the end of her show, Kaylani came back by and took another sip of the lady's beer. Again, she pretended to be fine with it, but she was clearly annoyed by Kaylani drinking from her bottle. Overall, a great show by Kaylani Lei, I'd strongly recommend seeing her perform if you ever get the chance. For the grand finale, the human sex bomb, better known as Jynx Maze came out in a football themed ensemble. Complete with pink helmet and shoulder pads that were both totally covered with glittering pink crystals/rhinestones. She took off the helmet almost immediately and the shoulder pads followed about thirty seconds later. Just like last year, she was super high energy and her routine was fast paced. She brought a guy up on stage, had him sit in a chair and gave him a quick lap dance, including her famous "Booty Hammer" move. She danced, she interacted with some of the fans at the rail and brought another guy up on stage, had him lay flat and danced on top of him. Just a really intense, fun show by Jynx Maze. After a short wait, Jynx, Kaylani, & Veronica arrived along with Archie, the LA Direct roadie who was running the show so to speak. Charmane Star was nowhere to be found. Again, like last year, things were a bit crazy as you had multiple fans that all wanted different things (autographs, photos, private dances) from each of the girls. It was a tiny bit better than last year, but not much. When it was your turn Archie took your order, gave it to a female hostess. You then gave your cash/credit card to the hostess who would walk over to the cash register, where she filled out the necessary paper work and rang up the bill. It was a marginal improvement at best but it was nicer to sit at a table and wait rather have to stand in line at the register. When Archie got around to me, and asked what I wanted, I told him I would like a private dance with Kaylani Lei. I had all ready had a dance with Jynx Maze last year and Charmane star was not at the meet-&-greet. That left me with a choice between Kaylani and Veronica Rodriguez. I decided on Kaylani since I've been waiting longer to see her, several years in fact. He said OK and politely asked to wait my turn as Kaylani was all ready doing a dance with another customer. While I waited, I later discovered that that first guy had booked her for a 30 minute dance!! Plus there were two other guys ahead of me in line to do a private dance with Kaylani, meaning I was looking at a wait time of an hour at the least! It was all ready pasted 2:30am, so I thought I would just switch my selection to either Veronica or Jynx, but they were all ready doing dances with other customers, so I was stuck. As I was waiting, Charmane Star finally arrived. Apparently, a one of the guys at the meet-&-greet requested a private dance with her and she obliged. This surprised the hell out of me because when I saw her at the Spearmint Rhino in West Palm Beach a couple years ago, she told me at that time she didn't do private dances. I continued to wait and after only one song, Charmane came back out to the meet-&-greet area and sat down across from me at the table. I asked her what the deal was and reminded her of our meeting at the Spearmint Rhino two years where she said she didn't do private dances. She replied that she usually doesn't but she really likes the Sapphire club and its staff and really felt comfortable there, so she decided to offer private dances to fans. By now it was 3am and Kaylani was STILL in that 30 minute dance with her first customer. Then there were two more guys ahead of me and I had no idea how many songs they were going to book her for. This fact and the rare chance to have a private dance with Charmane Star led me to to attempt to book a dance with her. Since I was only going to get a dance with one girl I decided to get two songs. Since I was buying in bulk, I offered Charmane a deal where we'd do two songs for a discounted rates compared to the full price of one song. It ended up being a 17% off when I did the later on. I also had to pay the $50 "private dance fee" assessed by the club. She agreed to my terms and we informed Archie, who called the club hostess over to ring up the transaction. When she got to the table I told her that Charmane & I were going to do a private dance, two songs in length for X amount plus the club's $50 fee. She in turn gave me a grand total that was $50 that the one I had calculated. I told her that I had all ready included the clubs fee and broke down the price of the dance plus the club fee for the grand total. She then preceded to tell me that Sapphire's $50 "private dance fee" is charged PER SONG!!! I was mistakenly under the impression the the $50 charge was a flat fee to get you back in the room and you could buy as many songs as you wanted. Last year I only got one song per girl, so I didn't know about this policy. WARNING: LONG, ANGRY RANT AHEAD At first I was simply surprised by this revelation, but my surprise soon turned to anger. I've been to over a dozen different strip clubs in nearly half a dozen different states and I can honestly say with 100% certainty that the scumbags that run Sapphire's NY are the GREEDIEST cock suckers I've ever come across. Sapphire's is the kind of strip club that gives other strip clubs a bad name. Primarily because they wallet rape you any way they possibly can. The entry is $30 when I've never been charged more than $20 (please note that since this was an official eXXXotica After-Party, those with VIP bracelets got in for free, hence I did not pay a cover fee.) To be fair, with the expense of not one but four features dancing in one night I can understand the price hike, I'll give them that much. However, it's all downhill from there. If you go there in cold weather season, you have to check your coat. It's mandatory, they won't let you in without checking it. Of course, there's a $3 fee to do so. Once you get inside it's a tiny, cramped club. This year it was in the '70s outside and they were too cheap to turn on the air conditioner. With a 100+ people crammed in there like sardines it was so hot you started to sweat just sitting down. Not mention their drink prices are insane, even for a strip club. Sapphire's bottles ranged from $350 to $5000! You're paying $350 for a $20 bottle of liquor. Most other clubs prices star tat $150-200 and they usually offered $100 bottle specials at certain times. It's not just the bottles that outrageously expensive. Individual drinks are just as bad. I ordered a Corona that cost $12!! Plus I had to tip the waitress on top of that. The lap dances with house girls are the standard price of $25 but it's a topless only club, not full nude. You're paying the same amount of money for less nudity. If you do buy a dance, the girls do it right their on the club floor in front of everyone! I've never seen this before. Every single other club has an area with booths for private dances, except Sapphire's. Now you're paying for a private dance that has absolutely no privacy! If you do want some privacy you have to book a private room that costs God knows how many hundreds of dollars in addition to the cost of the dance itself. Finally, we come to this "private dance fee" bullshit they pull with the pornstar features. And that's exactly what it is too: BULLSHIT!! It's a made-up scam to rape your wallet again for more money. Never, not once, at any other club I've been to to see a pornstar feature has the club charged the customer a fee on top of the girl's private dance fee. Which is bad enough, but they still take a piece of the girl's fee too!! They're double billing the customer & grill over the same private dance. Now I find out they are gouging the customer with this "per song fee" scam. There is no rational or reasonable explanation for charging this ridiculous fee other than greed. They do it for the same reason a dog licks his own balls: because they can! I understand that Sapphire's is a business and like any business the goal is to turn a profit. However, there is a difference between making a profit and bleeding your customers dry of every cent they have just because you can. That is the very definition of unethical business conduct. While it may be legal, it completely unethical and morally wrong to do so. RANT OFF When that female hostess told me I had to pay a second $50 for an additional song, I nearly lost my cool. I so badly wanted to stand up, then lean down till I was nose-to-nose in her face so I could tell her that she & all the rest of her scumbag col-workers were nothing more than a bunch of cheating, thieving criminals who should be locked up for stealing and that she could take those $50 fees and shove them up her ass and go fuck herself!!! However, I did not do that. I know it may seem like I was about to blow my lid and go berserk in that restaurant but that is far from the case. This all happened so fast, I didn't have time to get really angry. In fact I was simply annoyed & irritated at the time. I'm actually much more upset about it now as I write this two weeks later since I've had time to stew over it. I went ahead and paid the excess fee was because I had all ready agreed to the deal with Charmane. I wasn't going to back out on her and break my word. I counted out the money and handed it to the female hostess, who then quickly left to ring up the transaction on the cash register. I just turned my focus back toward Charmane and forgot about the fee debacle. Shortly after, the hostess returned and told us we were good to go. Charmane and I stood up, I took her hand in mine and we walked back to the private dance area. When we got to the room sat down on the sofa, Charmane sitting on my lap. We waited for the current song playing to finish before we started the dance. We made small talk while we waited and I have say that Charmane was as giddy as I've ever seen her. i feel your pain Jman That was a dirty move they did but the club owners probably figured its Pornstars and exxxotica people WILL pay the price seeing as you did but its still a scam none the less.
i notice alot of these StripClubs especially in NYC have gotten way too expensive lately i really dont know how anyone can afford it soon you will see only Donald Trump and some rich assholes in there lol. Thanks for the updates looking forward to Day 2.

Day 2 Day 2 of the show started with a visit to the Burning Angel booth where I saw the always awesome Joanna Angel. I picked up a copy of her "Walking Dead parody". She's been busy as always shooting scenes, directing, updating BurningAngel.com and doing some feature dancing. In fact she gave me a flyer advertising her appearance at Sapphire's on Sunday night where she would be dancing along with Rubberdoll. I told her I'd try my best to make it out to see her dance.

Mostly for BA but she's also done a couple of scenes for Naughty America and was in Jonni Darkko'sFacial Overload 3. I told her how glad I was to see her finally getting booked by other big name companies for scenes. For so many years, several companies refused to shoot heavily tattooed girls because customer complaints. I hope her career continues grow so that we are able to see more of her.
