I've been collecting a lot of porn DVDs and Blu Rays the last couple years which I've purchased from from various sellers on ADM. I recently read from a post on this site that Elegant Angel removed the selling of their items from ADM because they were worried about fakes and bootleg copies. Is this a real issue to be concerned over when purchasing or was it just a PR move by Elegant Angel? Also has anyone run across fakes? Anyone have tips on spotting fakes?

I've been a little worried about some of the Red Light District DVDs I've gotten now. Some have the red disc with a hole cut in the back packaging and their slogan "If it ain't red it...it aint Red Light! Look for the official red disc for authentic Red Light District product." Some have a Red Light District sticker placed over that hole and no red disc. Some just have the packaging rearranged and a bar code where the code would have been also with no red disc. Just packaging changes or possibly fakes? I tried contacting Red Light District but bad email addresses or no reply.

Sadly, I've received many bootleg discs from ADM. I know studios have had a huge issue with bootlegs and I try to stick with sellers I know don't send bootlegs. Some key things to look for are the shrink wrap around the disc feeling thicker than normal. I've noticed the bootlegs tend to have a thicker and stiffer wrapping. The wrap itself is usually a giveaway as well. The bootleg ones tend to have thicker paper and feel "home printed" versus the professionally made wraps.

Bootlegs will have a purple or black bottom. A pressed DVD or Blu-ray will be clear or silver.

I've never received any bootlegs from ADM but I usually buy from trusted sellers with thousands of feedback reviews. Plus to save on shipping I usually try to buy multiple titles from an individual seller.

Elegant Angel Video removing their titles from ADM definitely sucked (other labels from the same owners like DD Busty are also affected)

A while ago I read a post from someone else saying it was Evil Angel Video that usually was affected by bootlegs but maybe Elegant Angel overreacted thinking it might affect their titles too. I don't know for sure but my guess was the situation happened because some new (untrustworthy) sellers started selling bootlegs, got caught and ruined things for everybody.

Now I have to buy Elegant Angel Video & DD Busty DVDs from CD Universe or Adult DVD Empire but sometimes they have sales and can use discount coupons too. Probably not as low as ADM would've sold for but better than paying full price unless it's something you really want ASAP

You won't know it's a boot until you get it. Not to mention some studios are doing DVD-R themselves.
