I think people should expect something in return. Because those women aren't sisters, friends, or girlfriends to their fans. They're just random people. And the women view them as little more than atm's. And one girl for example had a car on her wish list. And others I've seen have full living room furniture sets for thousands of dollars. Others have hundred dollar shoes, ipad's, cameras, etc.. It's absurd. And what's even worse is that most of these guys who buy stuff for these women don't realize that most of these women are escorts, so for the money they wasted they could have just met her and gotten over their infatuation. But they don't know, so they're under the impression that buying items for these women is as close as they'll ever get. I can only speak for myself, but I have no desire for rendezvous with a porn actress who escorts. While it's within my budget, it's certainly not within the reality of my life. What I can do, is thank someone with no strings attached gift for pleasing me with a slice of voyeuristic fantasy. My original point was about the individuals who are confusing gifting with trading. A gift is something you give will no expectation of getting anything in return. Handing a bum $10, for wine or a meal to get him through another day, is a gift. Donating $10,000 to the church, somehow thinking you might get consideration for heaven, is trading.
That's trading. In exchange for your gift, you receive entertainment/pleasure/fantasy. To be truly a selfless gifter, choose a random porn girl or amateur webmodel, of whom you have never seen any video or photo, and send her a gift.
The return gift is smart public relations. Imagine how much closer that fan is gonna feel towards the talent when they receive a thank you gift from their crush? The tighter the connection a fan feels, the more likely they are to support the girl's work (and keep buying stuff). It's like an old school fan club. Instead of paying a membership fee in return for 8x10s, posters, unique items - ya buy and send a pair of designer heels.
Oh, but it's all worthwhile when you see those $300 Burberry Espadrille 6in Wedges turn up in a scene on the feet of your fantasy girl. She's getting drilled seven ways to Sunday and all that's going through your mind is, "Gawd Damn those are some fine looking shoes!"
I have a problem with them asking for gifts because I'm not their friend. I don't even know them except through what I read about them of if they interact with me on the net but I still don't consider that last one knowing someone. I buy their movies or join sites that have their content and frankly that should be enough for them. It smack of a lack of respect for your fans to ask them to buy you things as though you deserve it. I know some girls will ask for little things but there iss till a cost involve in these little things and some girls will ask for high end gift and those aren't cheap. I have no problem if you are a fan and you ask her if she would like a gift because you made the offer.
I would never buy off a wishlist, I found it a bit tacky, but fact that it become such a big deal to porn stars is just another indication how poorly performers are paid in industry.
^I think you are being far too kind to them. Although I appreciate the fact that porn gigs are hard to find at the moment. There are more constructive ways of earning money than asking you middle income fan to buy you things. Why should a porn performer get a free pass for asking for a handout? The entertainer has simply put up a "Wish List", people don't want to buy them something , then don't. Most of the list's for the newer girls are often heavy in bubble bath soaps , body lotions, and inexpensive lingerie. Many things under $20, so a fan doesn't feel like he needs to spend hundreds to impress his fantasy crush. I just don't understand why some fans are put off by this, as it really has no effect on them one way or another. Matter of fact I only see upside for those who choose not to give. If the actress is encouraged by the frills to the smallest degree that the business is worth staying in, they benefit from future scenes.
In the case of the bum, assuming they really need the money, it's more worthwhile to give them $10 than to give a porn girl gifts when she's already wealthy enough to afford them. For example I know of at least one girl who flys first class all the time, I guess she seeks to impress the public by bragging about it, has a Lamborghini and a Ferrari and still has a wish list. That's absurd. And there are other girls who aren't as wealthy, but can easily buy the items on their lists and yet they still expect their fans to buy them for them.

No one is forcing them to buy stuff for their favorite girl and most of the girls send signed photos/DVDs/custom movies in return. Have never personally bought anything, but I did give a used book to one years ago. She said she was really into a particular author/book and a friend of mine had one that they were done reading. The friend happily gave it to me and I happily gave it to the pornstar.

Well I know of at least one girl who admitted that she uses her list to have guys purchase stuff for her so she doesn't have to spend her own money. And since she tends to be more honest than most it likely works the same way with all the other girls. Especially considering most of them are wealthy enough to buy the gifts themselves.
One item on Gianna's list is a Mongoose Montana bicycle for $160. That's cheap Wal-Mart crap. I fullly endorse giving bikes to people who want them, but there are better used bikes for less money. If people send her cash, then she could shop around and get a decent ride. I have several decent bikes I may give away, but I can't afford shipping. I don't really see a problem with girls having wish lists as long as it's done right. I feel like as long as I'm sending my gift givers a super sweet thank you care package filled with lots of Slutwoman swag, it's all good. Some girls don't send their fans anything back and that is weird to me. But I feel like as long as I am giving back (something good. not a bunch of crap) then it's cool :) Also, porn chicks make good money, but this money isn't forever. Let's be real here, the shelf life of a porn girl is pretty short so it is very important to make this money last. I know there's gunna be a bunch of smart asses that will comment about the women that have been in the industry making money for years and years.. those woman are called exceptions. Most girls will only last a few to five years and that's it. When people buy me the things I want to buy or need it allows me to save just a little bit more for my future. Allowing me more money/time to invest in my website/future (buying a house, school money etc.). Some guys buy memberships to websites, some guys buy porn dvd's at stores, some guys steal porn off the internet and some guys like personal mementos.

Hey, if some dude wants to spend his hard earned cash buying a gift for a pornstar, more power to him. I do my part by buying their dvds. I would rather give my money to cause I believe like "Trout Unlimited" or a disaster fund. As far as buying a pornstar's used panties,that doesn't appeal to me, wifey has a drawer full up sexy lingerie that mean way more to me.

Yeah, but it's porn and no matter how much you're a fan of a girl, she's only around for a few years as the porn turnover is high. Look at it this way, when you come home from the AEE in January, what do you actually do with all the signed posters and slicks that you waited in line for? For me, the only thing that really sees the light of day is the T-shirts that I use as knock arounds under a sweatshirt. There was a story on Dateline not too long ago about some rich dweeb, he was you had to see him, who "stole" a babe from Hefner by constantly buying her super pricey items. Turns out he was embezzling from the fund he was managing to impress her. The funny thing was, the dweeb actually thought he was a player getting a babe, but the girl's BFF more or less said the girl didn't care for the guy at all, but loved his money.

I believe she has sugar daddies that bought the cars, but she also engages in "extracurricular activities" that supplement her income. So she does well on her own. And I know who you're talking about, Mark Yagalla. That guy apparently "rented" a number of playmates by paying them tens of thousands of dollars a month for their company. I don't think I'd ever buy stuff for a pornstar or off her wishlist but I don't blame the girls for making a wishlist. The truth of the matter is that some guys buy those girls gifts anyway and if they're going to spend their money buying stuff for a girl the girl might as well make it known what they actually want or could use. The guy spending money on stuff the girl might throw away because she doesn't want/like/need it is a waste for all those involved. As to the guys who buy that stuff, I'd image their expectations vary. I have to image at least some secretly hope it's an in for sex. I don't thing those guys would ever admit it and wouldn't ever make a move for the sex other than buying the gifts...but they still have this fantasy in the back of their mind that the girl would be so greatful that sex could happen under the right circumstances. I think there are guys who buy gifts just to have some sort of connection with the girl. Actual friendship would be great but they'll gladly settle for that personal thank you and knowing they made their fav porngirl happy. Then I think there are those see buying gifts as building an actual friendship with the girl. When the girl sends back the generic "thank you" they feel they've got some sort of special relationship going on with the girl and think of her as some sort of friend. These guys can sometimes get their hearts broken if they meet the girl in real life or through some sort of correspondence and the girl doesn't give them the attention they think their "friendship" deserves. From the pornstar's I'm sure it's nice to get gifts from fans but at the end of the day the people sending them stuff are strangers. They probably appreiciate the gifts but you can't really expect them to suddenly become friends with people they don't know. Just because a person is nice enough to send them gifts and is probably harmless doesn't mean they can't be creepy or weird.
At the end of the day, what's the difference between a pornstar making a wishlist on Amazon and the like and Jennifer Q Public (non pornstar) with a wishlist on Amazon? Both get stuff from people who want to share affection with that person, while getting them something that they know the recipient actually desires. What's wrong with that. Does it really make a difference if the girl is wealthy? You're looking at it the wrong way. It's not about helping them out and they aren't claiming t be in need. I guess some guys just want to show their appreciation/devotion or want to try and start a friendship or try and get into the girl's pants. Whatever the case it doesn't matter what or how much the girl has it's about the guy giving them a token of some sort. The girl isn't saying you need to buy her this stuff but is offering up a list of things that if you're going to spend your money on her here's a list of stuff she likes or could use. Besides, people don't always buy gifts for people others because they're bad off or are in need of things. I've bought gifts for people who are in better finacial shape than me before. Of course those were people I had some sort of real relationship with....but the same theory applies.
