Man am I all over the place with mixed feelings on this topic. I can see both sides for some many of these feelings. I'm in no way supporting the a-holes that improperly grope or talk poorly to any of the girls. You do it, you deserve to get tossed out. You are making assumptions here that alot of the fans know alot of the companies and girls and that's not true at all. As has been said, many of the people there know like Jenna and that's it. So on the one hand you go to a booth and all the girls are putting your hands on them and being very touchy feely then you go to the next, let's say Wicked booth and none of the girls are like that and are there to do a job and get their picture taken with you and that's it. That's fine and I'm more than happy with that, just saying there is a reason where you could see where some are getting a mixed message. People are trying to mention all these remedies and I'm not sure any of them will work. I like the idea said of posting signs of what's proper and not. I've heard mention of extending trade only hours or selling out like 3 hour sessions and then clearing the hall. The only thing that does is punish the 95% of the fans that are doing no wrong. Gives them less time to see all the girls. Great, I walk in and spend half my 3 hours in the Vivid line. You thought people were being rude and pushy before, great let's give them even less time to try and get all their shots. It all comes down to individual responsibility. Simple as that. Hey, I was taught to always treat a lady like a lady, no matter if she is a pornstar or not. You give respect you get respect. We all know everyone is not like that. However, I do take some issue with a little of what Julia Ann said. I agree for the most part but have a problem with this. On the one hand she kind of chastises the fans for generalizing about her and assuming they can get away with stuff because of what she does. BUT, on the other hand she goes into that spiel about us not knowing our sexuality etc.. etc.. Well, if I as a fan can't generalize about her, seems pretty damn unfair of her to generalize about all the fans. It's a few bad apples, end of story. Kick them out and move on. Beef up security if you have to, that's fine. I noticed many booths were already leaning towards being less fan friendly this year. If you read my post on my AEE experience I made mention of many booths that made it much harder to get a picture with the girl. The girl would have to walk around the barrier to get a pic. with you. All that did was slow down the lines which made the crowd more restless which led to tempers flaring and bad behavior all around. I'm not saying less barriers is the answer. I don't know what the answer is just saying more barriers won't necessarily solve the problem. I mean take the Vivid booth for example. What a mess. Lets' say you only wanted to meet Savanna Samson. Well, she is on the far side of the booth. You couldn't just get in a line for her. No, you had to run the gauntlet and stay in that line for an hour and meet all the girls just to get to her. This time waster certainly doesn't help a fans mood. Why do I have to meet Tera, Krystal,etc.. when I just want to meet Savanna. More defined lines isn't the answer either. I wish the organizers luck with this. I should mention something though. I went with my girlfriend at the time to the show this year. I can tell you that nearly every star that took a picture with her felt her up. So, I see you do all this stuff on film and I'm supposed to know,(which I do but just pointing out that many don't), that it's not cool to walk up and just grab you, but most of you who don't know my girl at all feel it's o.k. to do the same to her. Interesting. What about all the fans in line that see that? Is that the message to send? I mean they see you fondle a fan, girl or not, why wouldn't they think it's o.k. to come up and grab you. I'm too shy and just not built that way,(VINH can attest to that), but I can see where that message is being sent. I mean I'm still offended that Julie Night just up and grabbed my crotch. Well, that's total bullshit there.

Somehow I missed this one the first time around.

I don't blame Julia at all for her feelings. The show certainly has grown to unheard of proportions and let's face it security is a joke. They are more interested in kicking a girl out for willingly showing her tits then stopping a guy from grabbing a woman who doesn't want to be touched.

I honestly don't know what else Wicked can do to help. They constantly have staff on the floor and the girls are behind a counter until they choose to come out.

Could there be some confusion on an idiots part who thinks Ava Divine let me do something so of course Julia Ann will? Maybe but that is a pathetic excuse if I ever heard one.

The problem is that with a show that size unless you have a security force second to none you can't really control it all you can do is try to manage it.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Actually check ID's to go with badges. In over 12 years this has only happened to me once.

2. Wider isles. (Been suggested every year but wider isles prevents a crush of people and people tend to generally act better then)

3. Charge more. Not a very popular thing to say I know but it will help weed out the "fans" from the "hey let's go see the hot chicks". It didn't seem we had nearly this problem back when CES charged $75 bucks if you just showed up at the door. Let's face it AVN could probably double that and still draw record attendance.

Didn't they try this in '04 when you had to get a digital pic snapped of you that then showed up in the "door gorilla" 's Palm when your barcode was scanned?

I was surprised to not see it in '05 -- tho I can understand the uproar they probably got keeping people honest.. tho I forget who I talked to that year that mentioned that AVN now had a pictorial record of everyone who attended the show, and what posible ways they could misuse the data...

This has to be coupled with #3 since wider aisles mean less footage to sell, and that's overhead and how can they cover that overhead... that brings us to #3...
I am still struck by the notion of the AVN convention as being a fan show with some business thrown in.... when it seems it should be the other way around.

Not necessarily a horrible idea if they at least offered much cheaper tickets as advance purchase prices, but more expensive tickets at the door. Of course, this could just lead to more abuses of people sharing badges, etc.

Voyeur - not sure if you were serious or joking when you were saying you were still offended by a girl grabbing your crotch. (Personally, I think it's kind of tasteless for girls to do that to random strangers, but that's just me). I wonder how guys would feel if there were rules put in to place that would stop the girls from touching guys below the belt, at least as much as they try to stop the girls from flashing nipples or genitals (I KNOW it doesn't stop all the girls from doing it, but at least it might start setting a precedent for what is and isn't acceptable.)

If you raise the price to get in, won't people act even more agressive. Like in, 'hey, I have spend a lot of bucks to get in here, now show me something for it.'?

I have no idea if the above makes sense at all. I am not the target audience of these kind of events and so I have liitle insight in what goes on in people's mind at such places. In fact, I wouldn't even go to such events if it was free.

I might take whatever number of dicks in my holes for a living but I still make the choice who I allow to touch me, fuck me or call me names. Just because I do it with James Wellhung on camera doesn't mean I wouldn't mind every other guy from the audience doing it to me. I still have the right to decide over my own body. Just because I like it the one day doesn't mean I'm in the mood the next day.

Walter - I don't think so. Most fans already know what to expect at the show. And a higher price might keep some of the people out who are just looking for women. But that is my opinion.

I also may be putting to much of the blame on people I don't call 'fans'. There are some fans I know who are just as big an a**hole as the other guys.

Let's face it AVN made this a fan event when they started selling tickets which people have been pushing them to do for years. Now they just have to figure out how to manage it. One way for comapanies to handle things if they get out of hand is do the opposite of what JKP does. JKP doesn't usually have anyone in their booth during non-fan hours. Companies could just go down to one or two girls max during fan times so they can better control the situation.

Several things can be done but not without either costing AVN some money or making the show "less memorable" for people. A big step IMHO would be to have security pay less attention to if a girl was flashing or not and more attention to what the crowd is doing. If the girl wants to flash...let her it is an adult event and her choice. If a guy trys to grab a girl who is flashing without her consent. Kick the shit out of him, put his name (and picture) in the database and NEVER let him back in again.

In the Ashley Blue case I would have called the cops and had him arrested.

This is a great thread! One of the reasons that girls are not allowed to flash is that some of us provide alcohol to our customers from our booths and the convention center does not have a cabaret liquor license. After my first AVN show with Metro, I realized the problem some girls had with fans, and designed my booth so that access was limited. This past year only one person at a time could come into the booth for a picture with the girls and there was always one of us guys watching the interaction. Our girls were instructed to not allow anyone to touch them in a manner they were not comfortable with. There were only a couple of instances where I got the look and had to move a fans hands. I think that we all want our fans to have a good interaction with our talent but rude behavior cannot be tolerated.

As far as I'm concerned, the performers are the "boss" when in a situation like AEE (or during any other personal appearance). If she wants me to touch her, she will make it very clear (usually by putting my hands where she wants them).

It's a shame that some people can't seperate fantasy from reality and think that the fact that they jerked off watching a particular performer earlier that week means that they can paw that performer when they meet in person.

Once again, I know it has been said in this thread and I don't want to be repetitive but for any stars/directors etc I think you should remember these are not "fans" they are assholes who know no one but Jenna! I meet countless dozens of them in line.
I would never touch anyone and I have been there 3 of the last four years and I think the majority of the people especially those on this forum agree would agree with me. The AEE is a mecca for true fans and you should know how much we appreciate the time and the effort you all spend.

Tricia, I wrote, "I mean I'm still offended that Julie Night just up and grabbed my crotch. Well, that's total bullshit there."
I hope that does explain I was being sarcastic about that. But to ease your mind Julie and I are not total strangers. We met at the adt party before and talked quite a bit so...just harmless fun. DISCLAIMER, No cocks were harmed in the taking of my picture with Julie Night.

Or during fans hours for that matter. I've never understood this. Jenna Haze was the only starlet signing at their booth. (That I've seen) They do have other contract girls, don't they? And what about Jill Kelly herself?

Your second sentence can be read as meaning two different things. First, the way that you intended it where "bullshit" refers to your being offended and saying that your first sentence was really a joke. However, it can also be read as "bullshit" referring to it being wrong that Julie grabbed your crotch.

Edited to insert missing word.

Voyeur and Bill - yup, I thought the bullshit referred to Julie's attitude.
And no, I hadn't realized that you guys had talked before... so taken out of context, it could have been a perfect example of how a girl may herself step out of line.

Taken in context, it shows that some girls are more comfortable with some things than others, but still does nothing to help in situations such as what Julia Ann was originally discussing - fans who don't actually know the girls they are grabbing.

im surprised that more people havent given voice to the fact that lots of attendees at the AEE seem to get their jollies off by saying some of the rudest stuff possible to the girls at the convention. hearing that type of nonsense annoys the hell out of me. in addition to taking steps to ensure the safety and comfort of the girls at the booths perhaps there should also be steps taken to raise the level of respect of the average attendee. raising ticket prices (however unpopular that idea is) may be the way to go here.

Not to trivialize this thread, but I just started thinking of people that I wouldn't mind grabbing me at AEE...

Justin Slayer, Michael Stefano, Jules Jordan, Toni Ribas (who, sadly, has NEVER grabbed me )...

Not coincidentally, I know all of these people and have seen every one of them naked. :)

Yes, three years of AEE and I've seen a whole lot of grabbing and generally disgusting behavior toward the talent and non-talent at the show. There's a reason why alcohol isn't allowed at strip bars, and maybe should be controlled at AEE. . . . Already rude people get even more out of hand.

I will say one thing though - AVN isn't directly responsible for what goes on at AEE. The show is produced, directed, set up and manned by Adult Expo Group. All AVN does is sponsor it and advertise it.

Vivid and JKP have the right idea. Keep the signing space set up where the talent has room to keep out of grabbing distance.

At least I haven't seen an all out fist fight at AEE like the one at AdultCon a couple of years back.

Friends -

That's why I don't go to those things.

If I'm within' hailing distance of a goddess like Katja , I'm either soiling myself in a most embarrassing way, or I'm getting beat down by security thugs again.

I'm such a loser that when I met the only porn star I've ever met, Vanessa Del Rio about 25 years ago, I almost had a spontaneous ejaculation. And I'm pretty sure that in her presence, I drooled on the autographed picture she gave me.

while its true enough that purchasing power is not an instant cure all to this problem it could be an effective start. it seems to me that its also a logical economical progression. after all if the demand for the tickets is so high and AEE attendance is setting record numbers it might be time to raise the prices anyway due to supply and demand.

I can sympathize with the first three steps that led to your demise. Same things happened to me once. Not sure if a harsh word followed, as it was too noisy. But she tried to knee me, and I saw it coming and side-stepped it. Decided that somewhere else is where I needed to be. I hate ignorant morons.

I guess this is yet another thing we have in common. Except it wasn't quite TWENTY-FIVE years ago that I met her. More like FIVE years ago. You met Vanessa Del Rio when I was 4 years old? That's funny considering that I still found her hot (and still do today) when I met her.

*does quick math*

25 years ago...1980. I was four years old, she had been in the business for 6 years already; she started in 1974 when she was 22 years old, two years before I was even born. I discovered her in '86, when I was just 10 years old, finding my dad's copy of "Dr. Lust." Hard to believe she was 34 years old by this time. Finally met her in '99, on my wedding night no less, when I was 23, both of us thirteen years older than we were after I first laid eyes on her. By this point, she had been in adult for 25 years. She was 47 years old and I still woulda hit it. As of March 31st of this year, 'Nessa's 53 years old and I can't say my mind has changed.

Well, I had an accidental boob grope of Devinn Lane which went unmolested. How's that for a mixed metaphor! I'd been dying to see pictures of Devinn with a long cigarette in her mouth, so I made it happen during a photo shoot. This was before she'd gotten it on with guys on film. I didn't even intentionally try to grab her breast, but perhaps it was an involuntary reaction to her stunning loveliness and sassy charm. Anyway, Polaroids don't lie and I cherish the fact that I had my hand on such a beautiful creation as a Devinn Lane breast. Devinn, if you're reading, it was an accident. Promise!

I must reply to Voyeur 32 Senior Member.
I will generalize "Not being able to handle or understand one's sexuality". Let's be honest (and this isn't a dig at anyone.) Most human cultures haven't the slightest notion what to do with sexuality and I include my culture, the American culture in that statement. In fact, the American way of life is riddled with guilt and shame when it comes to sex and no one escapes that, not even myself. Unless you were raised in a bubble, our society has shoved it's sexual propaganda down your throat and in one way, or another it affects aspects of your life. You may not think it seeps in, but it does. It is general, because we are talking about the general public.
