My theory is that Gonzo probably predates Edisons Kindescope in 1888 and goes back to the Rovolving Picture Drums or whatever they were called. I know there are those in this Forum who believe that Gonzo started in the 70's but erotic drawings have been found on cave walls dating tens of thousands of years ago. What might be easier is to track down the first "feature" ie. screenplay and soundtrack. Having seen over 5,000 xxx films since the late 60's there is a chance I might of seen the first feature. I can't remember if the 16 mm color films I saw back in 1969 had any story or music to them. Would be interested if the Rame database webmaster knows the earliest film listed. I was watching porno well before John Holmes. Holmes first film listed was 1971. Some of the early porn films didn't even list actresses. Adam magazine was around back then and could of given us a great history of porn but they were too busy covering European nudies films. Maybe the early porn directors were so paranoid about revealing who they were. If that is the case it is really a shame. Any guesses on the first feature? Wayne In Dallas [Link] |
