Hi everybody,

just wanted to ask for your experiences with your FiveStar orders (again)...

I've placed two orders over 1 month ago. After two weeks I sent a mail to their customer support where they told me to wait another few days, and if my order wouldn't arrive they'd consider reshipping it (which I thought was a great offer since I guess they needn't do that).

One day after having written that mail one of the two orders arrived in a HUGE Jiffy Bag with the real price mentioned on it. I wondered how this thing ever came through custom. I was quite happy and thought it should only take another day or two until the other order would arrive since they were shipped the same day.

After having waited for another week I contacted them again, and was glad to be able to tell them that one order came through, because I didn't want them to believe I'd rip them off or something. However I asked them about the status of my second order.
Now nobody was talking about reshipping any more, and I was told to wait another few days, and the order would arrive.

After having waited for over another week (more than a month now) I contacted them again, telling them that the order STILL hasn't arrived and that I was not used to weeks or months of shipping times. Again nobody was talking about reshipping any more, but they told me that the mail was unpredictable, and I should wait another two weeks.

I have to admit I'm starting to feel a bit annoyed, now. I have never waited for over a month to receive an order. Also when I ordered there was no hint they'd use another shipping method. I also wonder why they first offer me to reship the order if it wouldn't arrive in a few days and then always tell me to wait a few more weeks. Another point I don't understand is why they write 'DVD-Software' on the package mentioning the real retail price thus increasing chances for a seizure extremely.

How about the other people's FiveStar-orders ?

Hi Spesedy: I have, and am having simmilar problembs with this company, so is one of the moderators of this forum. I placed 3 orders with these guys about 2 months ago and have recived 2 of them but the first order sent about 9 weeks ago has never turned up. I have sent emails but have not had them return my e-mails so far. The company apparently changed postal service, without notice about 2 months ago and this seems to have caused some problembs, with Quite a few customers outside of the USA. I dont know what to reccomend for you to do appart from, to keep e-mail'ing them. let us know how you get on. The other thing to do is to try one of the other companys that advertise on this site, all have good reputations

I have to make a correction: My parcel has infact been 5 weeks not 9, I have also been contacted By FiveStar and they have sorted out my problemb regarding My outstanding order. I am sure they will Help you out in the same way they have me, Again I appoligise for the incorect shipping times given. I must point out also, That fivestar are in general very good regarding the helpfull manner of their staff. However I think they have been let down by their choice of Shipping Agent, but have now apparently gone back to their most reliable shipping agent.

Like Mantiz I have had a lot of trouble with my most recent order with 5-star, which is mostly detailed ina few other threads here.

According to the confirmation email I got from them, my order shipped 6 weeks ago.

They haven't replied at all to my last email regading this order, sent 11 days ago.

I've been wary about saying bad things about five-star in this forum until now. But the facts are they shipped using a different method then stated, and their much-vaunted customer service appears to be lacking, at least in my case.

I'm not sure if I'll use them again. I stongly dislike my emails going unanswered for this long.

Mantiz - when did they contact you? Did they reply to an email or did they perhaps see your post above?

Hi SCIPIO: They contacted me after I emailed them on saturday, and basically were very good about the situation. However I must say they did know I had posted here and i belive it made some difference. They pointed out the 9 weeks error to me ,and i corrected it. But the fact they knew I was an active member of ADT, and was not affraid to vent my frustrations publically diddint hurt. I to had a couple of emails that went un-returned but they seem to be genuinely concernned about not having answered them. I must say they are very good at returning emails for the most part. I Will use these guys again because despite the problembs I have confidece they will sort it out. One tip I will give, is to make yourself known to them ,and do not be affraid to be pro-active.

Thanks for confirming my experiences...

When contacting a retailer I'm always using my ADT-email-address. But this time it didn't help me much :-(

What I didn't like at all was the fact that - like scipio already pointed out - a totally different postal service was displayed on my order along with its shipping costs. I don't know how much the postal service cost they were actually using, but I know that I paid for a totally different service. Only on the ADT board I got to know that they were obviously shipping via Denmark.

I was also quite confident they'd sort out my problems after offering me a reshipment but was quite disappointed when the answers to all my following e-mails were to keep waiting.

I'm always concerned about not posting on the board too early, and I tried to solve the problem via e-mails, but after more than a month has passed now, I wanted to know about your experiences. I hope the problem will be solved like yours was, mantiz.

Wow...

I would have thought that when writing a reply to this thread, FiveStar would perhaps address my problem with a sentence or two :-o

spesedy - Ken's email address is publicly available. Ken always responds to emails in a timely fashion. Perhaps a public forum isn't the best place to address the specific problem of your order.

Hi Steph,

sorry, I think that's a misunderstanding.

As I've written in my post I'm always avoiding to post on the board about a problem too quickly without having tried other methods.

My first post also wasn't meant as a public complaint to FiveStar. When I want to complain to someone special I write him an email.

But I think after sending several mails to the customer support without finding any solution to the problem it's ok to ask other users for their opinions. I came here because I remembered more people having similar problems and wanted to know how everything turned out, e.g. if they received their orders at last.

I didn't want to force Ken to address my problem publicly. I had just hoped that after reading this thread and posting a message in which he addressed scipio's problem, he'd eventually mention mine as well.

After having read many posts on the board which were obvious complaints about certain stores which weren't always written in a nice way but being praised and thanked for their "constructive suggestions", and after noticing so many people always discussing their orders with the retailers' representatives publicly on the forum, I thought this might also be the right place to look for help concerning my problem.

I'm sorry if I was wrong.
