Senior Member 1679 Posts 2/01 |  Posted - Jan 13 2004 : 12:59PMWell, I exchanged this disc three times before I finally got one that didn't freeze up during the layer change, it still was a little choppy while fast forwarding after the layer change, but it still played fine. A few months later (today) I pop this title into my player and it won't play at all, screen says "disc is dirty". So I wiped the disc and got the same result three times: "disc is dirty", this disc just won't play. It's my understanding that two runs of this disc were done, the secong was supposed to fix the problem, but from what I can see both were bad. Has there been a third run of this disc and are they even playable? I liked Jules earlier stuff with Evil Angel and this is a good title, but damn it if there isn't a good copy to be had anywhere. I also had problems with Rogue Adventures #9, freezes up at the 1:39:00 - 1:40:00 mark of the movie (during layer change) and the rest of the movie was unwatchable. Exchanged it and the new one worked fine. Months later I pop it into my player (the other day) and it's freezing up again at the layer change, I can skip to the next chapter (2 minutes ahead) and the rest is watchable, but how much longer before this disc won't play either? I don't like spending good money only to get discs that work the day you get it and then months down the road desintigrate to the point where won't play anymore. Tricia or anyone else at EA: Has a third run of FH #2 and a second run of Rogue #9 discs been done? And is there any change to the performance of these discs? Do they work properly? But that still doesn't explain FH #2 going from being able to play all the way through, to not being able to play AT ALL. [Link] |
| Linus TR fan Member 318 Posts 11/03 | Posted - Jan 13 2004 : 3:29PM It had another problem of fading in black, and then returning to normal color through some movies too, so I finally took it in under warranty, and they told me that the lazer was going to hell, and one of thier processing chips had a failure in it. I had similar problems with it to you, both problems were intermittent, I would have no problems, then they would pop up and go away like I had imagined them or something. Obviously I dont know what your particular problems are caused by, but since I got a new DVD player all of my Evil Angel titles play absolutely perfectly. So it may be possible it is not the discs at all but your player. If it is under warranty, I would atleast consider getting it checked out. [Link] |

I bought a mid-level Sony player for the offices about 2 months ago, and it wouldn't even load half of the EA discs I put it into it (and several others, although we only tried about 4 non-EA discs.) As far as Flesh Hunter 2 goes, we have had at least 4 runs, and in the last 2 runs, we haven't been hearing any complaints. [Link] |
