I do not know whether this is proper forum, since this is a question about how to search in the ADT forum database itself and not a technical question about DVDs. Otherwise please redirect the thread to the forum that you feel is more proper.

It happens that I found an answer to a question that was posed a few weeks ago by a poster that has been deactivated in a thread that has been locked.
Supposing that that guy does not read ADT anymore (it's normal if you had been banned), I was trying to look for his profile in order to find his e-mail address and answer to him directly.
But it seems that once a user has been deactivated, searching for him leads to no results at all, like his presence in the forum database has been completely deleted.

So, I wonder how can I get back to the profile of that deactivated user, in order to give him that answer that he seemed to need so badly (sorry, but as a European I feel that people with troubles need to be helped, not to be ignored, this is what my concept of civilization tells me).

I'm glad you bring it up because I want to go on the record and say that I disagree with the policy of prohibiting the look up of deactivated users's posts. Some of those users had some good posts and there are times in which I would like to see what they had to say.

ADT is a privately-owned website and Drew and Steph can do what ever they feel is best in its day-to-day operation. That being said, members who didn't follow the rules and are now gone had a choice to play nice or not at all and as such their membership at this forum was forfeited the moment they crossed the line.

nietzsche, there is no policy.

we did not customize every aspect of this forum. right now there are bigger priorities than changing this.

soljaris - sadly it's not normal for those who have been banned to actually leave. this is why you see so many deactivated users - it's the same handful of people. if you want someone's email address and it was publicly available i would be happy to provide it. just email me.

I did some work on the forum search functions tonight. You should now be able to search for posts from deativated users.
