every set is diffrent. I was under contract at Extreme and we didn't have showers, sometimes I even hosed off in back behind the building. Most locations are houses, they let you use the shower but it's a good rule of thumb to bring soap and a towel. the 3 studios, Remmet, Niki hunters, and Straight up all have showers if Im not mistaken, only one im not 100% on is straight up. DVSX even has a shower at the office as does Elegant angel.
I have had 2 full bottles of prescription pills stolen and also cash from my purse, both while at the extreme office and I was shooting in another room. I believe the male talent took the pills. the cash I don't have any clue.
As to how we are paid, some companies have a history of bouncing checks and they are normally required to pay cash. I payed cash on the first movie I shot on the first scene
In the BTS of The Violation of Kate Frost, Kate makes it clear she isn't happy about working with JM Productions again because the last time she did a scene for them (American Bukkake 12) she discovered afterwards that somebody had stolen her purse. Can you imagine?
Wait a minute. That means you could not only have your "pocket money", credit cards, driver's license, health papers -- but also the cash you just fucked your brains out for -- ripped off in one fell swoop. How common could this be?
And to think, some industry blowhard is whining in "Star-Crossed" (*cough* Dirty Bob *cough*) about starlets not being "thankful" enough.
when i did a big jm thing I would take my shit out to one of the girls cars i trusted and lock it up. Its not the production companys fault though, its normally other porn people doing stealing, not the directors. clothes go missing a lot (and my ID once) but usually that stuff is just a mistake, I have a size 9 clear shoe that I have no idea where it came from, and on a set when i was directing the girl was so high she left shit every where, I still have her pants.
the bigger rip off is when you dont get paid like the private picture I did where i had to get a lawyer to get my money, or when I worked for multimedia (JM company?) and 3 checks bounced multiple times, another company who I wont name (cause they made it right) bounced checks to me both times I worked for them

Well, if it was an AB flick, you could point the finger at any of the 80 or so ex-con's that just dumped their load on your face!As for Dirty Bob, I don't think you got the point. Try taking such an amount of time out of your obviously open schedule to organize ANYTHING like this, see how hard it is to plan, only to have people flake out on you (for starters) or show so very little appreciation to the person that helped make (part of) it possible.

Not saying he is, but that's an issue that someone else started...I just commented. I've never met the guy, but I feel his pain, if the reasons are justifiable or hold any merit. In many strip bars, the strippers certainly don't trust their cash in the lockers and carry their tips with them at all times. Can't trust each other for a moment. This isn't every place. I would think that many sets are similar.

I've discovered if you've thrown a lot of cash at a certain stripper they will often leave their purse and shit with you when they go up on stage. I have never taken advantage of this potential opportunity.
I left my garter in the champagne room the other day and my customer saved it for me and the dude wasnt minted, he was just honest! I would never steal (apart from intellectual property) and I think most people wouldnt.
This is kinda funny. Not in the ha-ha way, though.
People always leave their stuff with me. Back when I was a regular stripper all the girls would ask me to watch their stuff, or if they had a big wad of cash, it was always "Kimi, please, I know you won't lose it!" I always understood that meant I wouldn't steal OR lose it. I never did, either.
It happened on porn sets, too. I was always watching someone's something (um, yeah...). Not just other performers somethings, sometimes I was watching directors somethings, cameramans somethings, even computer tech guys somethings. I seem to exude the trustworthy reliable vibe. People who never met me before would just ask, "Hey, would you take care of this while I go do that..."
I haven't had anything stolen from me, except panties at bachelor parties. Dang guys - I've lost at least half a dozen pair of panties over the years. It doesn't seem like much, but when that pair of panties was the bottom of a matching set - you can't get a match ever again!!
I have been one of those people, not only do I give her my money to protect it from theives I give it to her to protect it from me! When we went out drinking the first thing I did was give her my keys and large bills. I have a habit of giving the server the wrong bill and not checking change, I also spend and drop money like a fool!

This is why I don't like to go drinking @ bars, cab fare sucks ass, and it only adds onto the large bill at the end after a very messy night of drinking. I'd much rather crack open a bottle of Sambuca, and take shots with a willing friend until the bottle is dry!!
Now that's odd. Two performers with extensive experience have two completely different experiences. Sorry, Kimi, I don't think the purloined panties count since they were taken at bachelor parties, not a video set.
I read in another thread (can't remember which) a female talent saying although they were shooting in an opulent mansion (rented) she was forbidden to use the bathroom. She said she got her revenge by peeing in the (lush) patio garden.
"Skittles" sounds familiar. I'll bet it was your post I remember. Kami, since only you and Kimi have posted to this subject, would you say your day-to-day experiences are worst than most? Should a newbie coming into the business expect to be ripped off from time to time? Do you learn to bring only the "bare necessities" to a shoot -- ID & Health test, change of clothes, towel and soap on a rope?
I realize that basic common sense applies here. You wouldn't go to a gym wearing expensive jewelry or toting big bills (more assumptions on my part).
As for after-work showering, is this ever a factor in taking a gig in the first place? ("What!? You want me to do three guys and 3 pops on the face and NO place to wash up???")
You learn to carry the industrial size Germ-X and a giant size box of baby wipes. I'm pretty sure I can take a complete sponge bath in the back of a rental car now. Well, really, I'm absolutely sure. I washed my hair out in a driveway once with a bottle of witch-hazel I had in my make-up bag. You learn to make do.
Ah, now this is why I love this board. This is the kind of nuts-and-bolts stuff that fascinates the hell out of me. I wish HBO or some other cable station would do a reality show around this. I'd watch.
