I have also been getting sick of gonzo because it's the same people having sex with the same people in the same locations over and over again and there's no variety whatsoever. Unlike you though, kh, I don't seek softer stuff as solice, but the feature hard stuff.
i would agree on the location bit, after a while you do find yourself recognizing the furniture and interior of the settings, but whatever. variety is nice, but i'm watching the scene for the fucking, not the setting. as for the same people, well, if i like the girl, i want to see her, and as long as she's putting in a good performance, i don't mind watching the same girls over and over. not much different than hearing the same songs over and over on the radio. and if i want storyline and stuff, i'll watch a regular movie. so i kind of like the just cut to chase and get it on porn. choking and spitting stuff i was never into though. but, if the director insists on throwing a little of it in, well, i'll just have to deal with it.
I'm watching gonzo movies for quite a long time and I still like those movies. The main reason is that I like rougher edged stuff and you can only find that in gonzo movies. If I like a particular girl I like it that you can buy a lot of gonzo movies in which she is starring.
I'm not sick of gonzo. I've been frustrated with it many times but am not sick of it. There's just so much of it that it's really hard (and takes time) to find something that suits me.
I think directors are hesitant to change their formula when they find one that seems to work because that's what keeps their repeat customers coming back. Can't say that I blame them much. The repeat customers are their bread and butter.
I have taken breaks from gonzo on occasion but I always come back.
I'm not sick of gonzo. I'm just tired of BAD gonzo. Gonzo is just bad sex with horrible technical quality when it isn't presented in a professional and clear manner to the fans. That's why I stick with the good gonzo by great directors who know what they are doing.

I'd like to think of this in terms of some of the things I photograph. Sure, I drive all across the US to find the little, more interesting operations to photograph. But when that won't suffice, I'm forced to go to the borg if I want any action! Ya know, the larger than life companies that always look the same. Fortunately, SOMEWHERE, the "scenery" (in this case, the girls) is subject to change and bound to do so within time!
I'm sick of bad gonzo with bad lighting, bad directing and bad camera angles. Hopefully this market will weed itself out as there is some real garbage out there.
I'm sick of all these fuckin clown male talent being in gonzo scenes and fucking them up! They don't know how to worship a girls body and fuck the girls right.
I swear, what is wrong with a bunch of these men(and I use the word "men" loosely)?
