As a whole, I'm actually pretty surprised to see what a great community ADT has become... a trip over to DVD Talk can be quite sobering. People are pretty damn nasty to each other over there. ADT is a utopia by comparison!

I enjoy the discussions, I enjoy reading the stuff on the home page, news, transcripts. The fact that people open up and speak up. We hope to be able to maintain a forum atmosphere where members are able to freely discuss these opinions. What we are trying to avoid is the point where heated debates turn into personal atacks. I would love to learn the many sides of the various issues brought up here. What I don't want to have to endure is the flame wars that amount to "you suck 'cuz you don't think like me' or 'my mom could beat your mom up.' I suspect that most forum members have a similar view point on flaming and personal attacks. We do have to have a few rules around here. ADT won't be very interesting if it's just pure pandemonium. The few rules that we have are designed to keep the forum enjoyable for everyone. Freedom of Speech is an interesting thing. You are free to go into your bosses office and tell him/her to fuck straight off. The law protects that right.
